Manage media relations for Ofcom, responding to national and international press inquiries, building stakeholder relationships, identifying proactive coverage opportunities, and supporting the organization’s media profile. Supports workforce planning, recruitment coordination, capability building, forecasting, and operational improvement for Ofcom’s Online Safety Group. The role analyzes workforce and recruitment data, identifies skills and capacity needs, prepares leadership briefings, coordinates projects, tracks risks and milestones, and works with People, Finance, and Business Management teams to improve planning and delivery.

Provide independent, expert legal advice across Ofcom’s regulatory work, including policy development, consultations, decision-making, litigation, enforcement, and drafting regulatory rules and guidance. Assess legal risk, advise on complex matters, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, and support junior lawyers through peer review. The role covers communications, media, technology, online safety, data protection, competition, consumer, and public law.

Lead complex policy work for Ofcom’s Online Safety Fees regime, including scope assessments, policy reviews, consultation development, stakeholder and provider engagement, implementation governance, risk management, and policy communications. The role also involves mentoring junior colleagues and coordinating cross-functional delivery within a developing regulatory framework.

Lead policy development on child sexual abuse and exploitation online, using subject-matter expertise, evidence gathering, stakeholder engagement, and analysis of emerging technologies. Advise senior decision-makers, support supervision and enforcement teams, develop regulatory recommendations, assess social-media age restrictions, and produce clear internal and external policy documents. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration with legal, technical, economic, government, and charitable-sector stakeholders, with possible line management responsibilities.

Develops evidence-based online safety regulation and policy for Ofcom, addressing harmful and illegal online content. Responsibilities include researching complex issues, analysing evidence, drafting guidance and policy recommendations, managing cross-functional work, engaging stakeholders, and advising senior leaders. The role may cover AI, age assurance, recommender systems, content moderation, and sensitive online harms such as terrorism, child sexual abuse, and self-harm.
