Leads Canonical’s global Legal and Compliance function, advising executives and the Board while building a distributed legal team. Responsibilities include public-market readiness, corporate governance, commercial contracting, intellectual property and open-source licensing, privacy, export controls, anti-bribery, competition and AI regulation. The role also oversees litigation, regulatory engagement, external counsel, M&A, partnerships and financing. It is remote in EMEA time zones, with optional London office work and international travel two to four times annually.

Designs and owns Canonical’s global internal audit function, including audit infrastructure, risk registers, control testing, process walkthroughs, audit programs, reporting, and remediation tracking. The role partners with stakeholders and senior leadership to identify risks, improve controls, and support scalable global operations. It reports to the CFO and Audit Committee and requires international travel two to four times annually.

Manage multi-country payroll operations, compliance, audits, controls, vendor relationships, payroll analysis, and process improvements. Lead payroll system automation and scalability initiatives while ensuring accurate and timely processing across jurisdictions. The Sales Development Representative will handle customer inquiries, execute sales campaigns, collaborate with teams, generate leads, and identify market trends.

Design and own global tax processes for multiple entities: prepare and review corporate tax, VAT and IFRS tax provisioning; manage transfer pricing, audits, tax planning, technology-driven process improvements, cross-functional tax support, and monitor legislative changes.

Provide office-based technical support for Canonical customers and employees, owning support cases from qualification to resolution. Troubleshoot Linux/Ubuntu systems, virtualization (KVM/OpenStack), containers (Docker, LXD/LXC, Kubernetes), storage and networking issues. Engage customers via phone/tickets/remote sessions, contribute to knowledge base, participate in weekend rota, and support AV and office infrastructure. Travel internationally twice yearly for company events.

Provide technical desktop and server support for Ubuntu/Linux environments, resolving customer issues via phone, tickets, and remote sessions. Support office infrastructure and AV for events, onboard new employees, and meet SLA and customer satisfaction targets. Escalate complex problems and learn new products and technologies.
