Owns project-wide QA strategy for a game, including build validation, test planning, defect lifecycle management, risk tracking, reporting, and hands-on testing. Leads and develops QA staff through mentoring, onboarding, reviews, and performance management. Represents QA in triage, agile ceremonies, leadership reviews, publisher communications, and outsourced QA coordination. Supports console certification, submission testing, documentation, and continuous improvements to testing quality and coverage.

Design and prototype levels for AAA PC and console games, including traversal, exploration, combat, stealth, and narrative spaces. Implement and iterate missions in open-world environments using Unreal Engine 5, collaborate with art, audio, and narrative teams, and own gameplay areas through peer review, feedback, and continuous improvement.

Design intuitive UI and UX for AAA games across PC and console platforms. Create wireframes, prototypes, mockups, icons, menus, and HUD assets; implement UI in game engines; collaborate with designers, artists, and engineers; iterate based on feedback and playtesting; and maintain consistent, accessible player experiences.

Develop gameplay prototypes, systems, tools, and design features for AAA PC and console games. Collaborate with art, engineering, and production teams to implement and refine gameplay, balance mechanics, optimize performance, and support concept development. The role requires proficiency with multiple game engines, advanced game and level design knowledge, scripting skills, and an understanding of technical limitations.

Owns the engineering co-development resourcing pipeline from intake through execution. The role clarifies technical staffing requests, identifies candidate pools using availability data, conducts initial qualification, coordinates introductions and onboarding, tracks pipeline status, and escalates risks. Success requires strong organization, communication, empathy, judgment, and composure. Experience as a C++ engineer in AAA gaming is required; Standard Chinese proficiency and Asian technical partnership experience are advantageous.

Manage end-to-end game production projects and strategic client and partner relationships across China and Asia. Responsibilities include budgets, scheduling, risk and change management, conflict resolution, partnership development, onboarding, client liaison, and promoting Sumo’s co-development and art services. The role requires fluent Mandarin, significant experience shipping game titles with external partners, strong relationship-building skills, cultural awareness, commercial judgment, and negotiation expertise.
