Piclo’s mission is to decarbonise the grid. We develop software solutions that make our energy networks smarter, flexible and more sustainable. Our flagship product, Piclo Flex is the leading independent marketplace for energy flexibility services, enabling distribution system operators (e.g. UK Power Networks) to source energy flexibility from flexible service providers (e.g. electric vehicles) during times of high demand or low supply. As of 2021 the flexibility contracts awarded on Piclo Flex totalled £56 m with 16 GW of flex capacity registered and 739 GW of flexible capacity procured. Piclo (Open Utility Ltd) currently supports the business-as-usual flexibility procurement of six of the UK DNOs and is commercially contracted with UK Power Networks, SP Energy Networks and Electricity North West. With a growing presence in Europe, Piclo recently launched in Lithuania working with the largest DSO Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (ESO).

CORE POWER is a UK-based development company, specializing in scalable new nuclear for ocean transport and heavy industry. In partnership with leading international corporations, CORE POWER will deliver durable zero-emission energy for floating industrial production and deep-sea shipping. Over the next few decades as many as 60,000 ships must transition from combustion of fossil fuels to zero-emission propulsion. The UN’s maritime agency IMO has mandated with unanimous approval from 197 countries that shipping must reduce emissions by 50% of the 2008 total, before 2050. This means an actual emission reduction of almost 90%, by 2050. The m-MSR can achieve that goal alone, by producing green sustainable fuels for the smaller ships and powering the largest ships. Zero emissions come as standard. Advanced atomic technologies have an economic potential which is greater than that of oil and gas. It can provide all the sustainable, clean energy we need to move us deep into the future without polluting the environment.

New technologies developed by the research and product development teams of Rock Flow Dynamics are integrated into the company’s flagship product – tNavigatorTM. This software is designed for running dynamic reservoir simulations on engineers’ laptops, servers, and HPC clusters. tNavigator is written in C++ and designed from the ground up to run parallel acceleration algorithms on multicore and manycore shared and distributed memory computing systems. The software employs Qt graphical libraries, which makes the system true multiplatform. By taking advantage of the latest computing technologies like NUMA, Hyperthreading, MPI/SMP hybrids, the performance of tNavigator by far exceeds the performance of any industry standard dynamic simulation tools. Only by using tNavigator can users be sure to unlock the full potential of modern computing hardware. Unlike other competing software products, tNavigator license pricing doesn’t depend on the number of cores employed in the shared memory computing systems. One of the other distinctive features, which sets tNavigator apart from any existing products, is the interactive user control of the simulation run.
