To make everyone’s day brighter— our Globallers, our audiences, our partners, and our communities. Whether we’re in the studio, building world-class technology, or securing record Outdoor advertising partnerships, we make sure we’re doing it as a team.

Your new role

Are you a content creator with a love of classical music and a flair for making engaging social media content? If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, where your organisational skills will be as valued as your creative thinking, this role is for you.

As Social Media Editor, you will take a lead on creating content for Classic FM’s world-leading social channels. Playing an essential role in a creative, collaborative team, you will make assets and short form video, working with presenters, music artists and music labels to produce winning content and drive channel growth. You will develop and implement content streams to engage audiences and help them discover our radio shows, longform video, and Global Player products, and regularly analyse data to understand content performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Creation and Planning (70%): Create a schedule of engaging visual content for Classic FM’s industry-leading social media channels to drive channel growth and help audiences discover our radio shows, longform video and Global Player products.

  • Social media analytics (20%): Analyse data from our social platforms to understand audience behaviour, content performance and strategy effectiveness, to help improve channel performance

  • Sessions and shoots (10%): Together with the Classic FM digital team, work with presenters, music artists and music labels to create visual content for our social media platforms.

What You’ll Love About This Role

Think Big: Work for the UK’s most popular classical music station, and the world’s biggest classical music brand on social media with over 8.5 million followers!

Own It: Independently develop winning content streams that drive engagement, channel growth and brand loyalty

Keep it Simple: Join a team with a deep understanding of its audience and the simple content streams that divert, inform and engage followers.

Better Together: Collaborate with a dynamic team on campaigns that span all our platforms – on-air, online, and more.

What Success Looks Like

In your first few months, you’ll have:

  • Created a regular output of engaging social posts for Classic FM’s leading social platforms, optimising content for various channels and developing a knack for what makes a post fly

  • Gathered social media analytics data to help improve content performance and make recommendations to the team

  • Developed an expert understanding of how to write and create content in Classic FM’s house style and tone of voice

  • Created high-performing short form video content and learned how to use Canva, Photoshop and Premiere Pro effectively

  • Produced interviews and sessions with artists and musicians where applicable

  • Thrived in a supportive, passionate team.

What You’ll Need

  • Social media management: A strong understanding of the digital landscape, and experience producing high-performing social media content

  • Copywriting skills: A flair for writing compelling copy that brings our stories to life

  • A love for classical music: A passion and knowledge for the music we play

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in ensuring every piece of content is polished, accurate and on-brand.

  • Flexibility & Positivity: A can-do attitude to managing a busy schedule of social content and delivering top results to share with the team.
