The role focuses on accurate internal administration, reconciliations, deadline tracking, basic loan modelling, and escalation of portfolio issues, without direct client relationship responsibility.

Responsibilities include preparing credit proposals, assessing complex financial information and development risks, reviewing valuation and monitoring reports, coordinating legal completion, managing portfolio data, and attending client or broker meetings. Manages lending relationships and loan portfolios through financial analysis, modeling, covenant monitoring, borrowing reviews, and credit risk assessment. Senior Director responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting, negotiating, and executing leveraged debt facilities for independent sponsor transactions. Owns senior sponsor and client relationships, evaluates business risk and equity certainty, prepares or supervises credit papers, leads deal teams through approval and completion, and supports portfolio, risk, legal, operations, and finance stakeholders. The role also develops junior colleagues and contributes to ThinCats’ origination, profitability, governance, and risk objectives.

Leads leveraged finance and financial sponsor lending activity, including transaction origination, structuring, execution, credit analysis, financial modeling, due diligence, negotiations, and risk management. Manages sponsor and intermediary relationships, prepares pitches and credit papers, presents to credit committees, supports legal completion, mentors junior staff, and ensures regulatory and compliance standards are maintained.

Prepares accurate regulatory returns for the PRA, FCA, Bank of England, and EBA, including COREP and FINREP. Reviews reporting data, supports automation and process improvements, enhances data quality, maintains documentation, and collaborates with Finance, Risk, Treasury, Technology, and other stakeholders to meet regulatory deadlines and evolving reporting requirements.

Own the product roadmap and detailed behavior of Shawbrook’s Customer and Accounts platforms. Define API contracts, customer data rules, account lifecycles, integration standards, requirements, and acceptance criteria. Develop and support IBM TM1 and Planning Analytics models, cubes, dimensions, hierarchies, TI processes, reports, dashboards, and finance workflows. Partner with Finance stakeholders to translate planning and reporting needs into reliable solutions. Administer the platform, including security, performance tuning, upgrades, troubleshooting, testing, documentation, and data governance. Chairs credit approval committee, holds delegated lending authority, manages and develops a sector-focused credit risk team, monitors portfolio performance, ensures policy compliance, prepares committee papers, and drives process improvements and quality assurance across 1st and 2nd Line credit activities.

Provide analytical support to the Models & Analytics Manager: deliver data analytics for credit decisioning models, produce credit risk reporting packs, champion credit data quality, support Credit Risk reporting and ad hoc projects, and manage Impairment monthly controls and oversight.
