Vision Engineer – Guarantee LevelLead the vision systems behind major live broadcasts At NEP UK, our engineers are at the heart of some of the world’s biggest sporting, entertainment and broadcast productions. We are looking for an experienced Guarantee-level Vision Engineer to take technical ownership of the planning, preparation and delivery of complex vision systems across our outside broadcast trucks, flypacks and remote production environments. Working across IP, including SMPTE ST 2110, and hybrid SDI/IP systems, you will make key engineering decisions, solve complex technical challenges and take responsibility for system performance from initial preparation through to live production. On site, you will act as the primary technical authority for vision systems, providing calm and confident leadership in fast-moving live environments. Key responsibilities
  • Take full technical ownership of vision systems from project design through to live delivery.
  • Lead system design, configuration, testing and validation for OB trucks and flypack projects.
  • Engineer and support complex vision chains, including cameras, CCUs, vision mixers, routers, multiviewers, monitoring and tally.
  • Implement and support IP-based production environments, including SMPTE ST 2110, PTP, multicast, redundancy and broadcast network infrastructure.
  • Configure and support broadcast control, orchestration and monitoring systems.
  • Lead the integration of vision, replay, audio, communications and wider production systems.
  • Operate as the Guarantee Vision Engineer on live productions, taking ownership of system performance and resolving faults quickly.
  • Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, system diagrams and build records.
  • Contribute to improvements in system design, workflows, engineering standards and reliability. Mentor and support less experienced engineers, sharing knowledge and best practice.
About youYou will be an accomplished Vision Engineer with the technical expertise, judgement and composure to lead complex live productions independently. You will ideally have:
  • Proven experience operating at Guarantee Vision Engineer level within outside broadcast or live production environments.
  • Strong experience designing, configuring and supporting complex vision systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 and IP-based production environments.
  • A strong understanding of broadcast network architecture, including multicast and PTP.
  • Hands-on experience configuring broadcast network switches.
  • Excellent knowledge of SDI systems and hybrid SDI/IP workflows.
  • Experience with broadcast control systems and complex technical integration.
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, planning and documentation skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, decisive and accountable in time-critical live environments
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
