Job Description

As a Translation Project Manager at MED PLANET you will coordinate the workflow of our translation services from request to delivery and assure the highest quality throughout the entire service chain. In addition to the management of translation projects, this role will include procurement, cost control, invoice validation, and direct communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

Depending on the quantity of projects managed, you may also have to be involved in translating documents from English to German/Spanish/Italian and vice versa.

Your specific duties will include the following:

  • Responsibility for the management and control of the freelancers on all translation work allocated to you, ensuring that MED PLANET achieves and exceeds client expectations
  • Scheduling resources for translation and proofreading
  • File preparation for translation i.e. masking/locking of text irrelevant for each target language
  • Maintenance of translation memories
  • Building and developing a network of experienced and reliable freelance linguists
  • Vetting process and rates negotiations
  • Setting up and maintaining linguists’ accounts in our supplier system
  • Responsible for the quality control of translations
  • Making sure client standards are met and deadlines are respected
  • Delivery of excellent client services
  • Participation to production when necessary
  • Undergoing of adverse event training when requested by the end clients

Qualifications

  • Higher education in translation, linguistics, native German
  • Project management skills
  • Good knowledge of a CAT-tool, preferably SDL Trados Studio
  • Familiarity with the translation industry
  • Comfortable with PEMT (post edition of machine translation)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong multitasking and networking skills
  • Proficiency in English, since this is the official company language and all communication with clients is in English.

  • You will be eligible to participate in the quarterly bonus scheme upon completion of your probationary period. This will be paid quarterly once probation has been passed.
