The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Transformation Strategy Lead to play a key role in shaping and driving transformation across our London Market business.

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of business strategy, technology, architecture and change, taking ownership of four integrated strategic roadmaps that translate business priorities into clear, achievable transformation activity.

You’ll work across a complex stakeholder environment, partnering closely with Velonetic, the ISB and teams across the wider business to ensure transformation priorities are clearly defined, technically feasible and aligned to measurable business outcomes.

This role requires someone who can see the bigger picture while providing the structure, governance and constructive challenge needed to turn strategy into deliverable change. You’ll bring together multiple teams and perspectives, manage dependencies and help ensure the right decisions are made at the right time.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Transformation Strategy Lead, you’ll provide overall ownership and direction for four integrated transformation roadmaps, ensuring they remain aligned with business priorities and customer needs.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Own, develop and maintain four integrated strategic roadmaps across the London Market business, providing a clear view of priorities, dependencies, outcomes and planned change.
  • Translate strategic business priorities into structured, achievable transformation activity with clearly defined outcomes and measures of success.
  • Work closely with the customer to agree and prioritise roadmap activity, balancing strategic objectives, technology considerations, dependencies and delivery requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate a matrix team across architecture, change, PMO and work-package leads, creating alignment across multiple areas of the transformation.
  • Lead the Design Authority alongside Enterprise and Business Architects, ensuring proposed change is technically feasible and aligned with the wider architecture.
  • Ensure key design and architecture decisions are captured effectively, creating a clear decision record to support future transformation activity.
  • Own the intake and exit governance process, ensuring scope, assumptions, requirements, acceptance criteria and measures of success are established at the beginning of each initiative and tested at completion.
  • Ensure requirements are appropriately agreed and signed off before build activity begins.
  • Assess proposed changes before commitments are made, ensuring the potential impact on agreed roadmaps, priorities and delivery is understood.
  • Maintain roadmap baselines under effective change control, working closely with the Change Control Manager to manage change in a controlled and transparent way.
  • Ensure operational impacts are understood and agreed before changes progress to cutover.
  • Connect roadmap initiatives to clear, measurable business outcomes and acceptance criteria, creating greater visibility of the value expected from each piece of work.
  • Maintain a consistently high standard of outputs before they are shared with Velonetic or the ISB.
  • Manage relationships across the customer and supplier environment, with clear ownership, expectations and accountability.
  • Establish and monitor agreed SLAs, ensuring performance and responsibilities are visible and understood.
  • Track benefits against agreed baselines, including supplier contribution and contractual IP.
  • Ensure strategic roadmaps are approved, published and refreshed quarterly, giving stakeholders a clear and current view of transformation priorities and progress.
What Success Looks Like

You’ll bring greater clarity and alignment to a complex transformation environment, ensuring strategy can be translated into realistic and achievable change.

Success will mean:

  • Transformation initiatives are technically feasible and clearly connected to meaningful business outcomes.
  • Roadmap priorities are agreed collaboratively with the customer.
  • Business requirements, scope, assumptions and success criteria are understood and agreed before delivery begins.
  • Architecture, business, technology, change and delivery considerations are brought together early in the transformation lifecycle.
  • Change requests are assessed thoroughly before commitments are made.
  • Roadmaps provide a clear and current view of priorities, dependencies and planned change and are formally refreshed quarterly.
  • Customer and supplier relationships operate within a clear model supported by defined ownership, accountability and SLAs.
  • Benefits can be tracked against agreed baselines.
  • Transformation outputs consistently meet the required quality before progressing to Velonetic or the ISB.
What We’re Looking For

This role would suit an experienced transformation professional who is comfortable operating across strategy, business change and technology.

You’ll be able to move confidently between strategic conversations and the practical realities of delivery, bringing structure to complexity and building alignment across stakeholders with different priorities.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Experience within the London Market, banking or a similarly complex and highly regulated environment.
  • Strong experience working across complex transformation programmes involving multiple workstreams, stakeholders and interdependencies.
  • Experience developing, owning or managing strategic transformation roadmaps.
  • The ability to translate business objectives and strategic priorities into clear, achievable transformation activity.
  • A strong understanding of how business strategy, technology, architecture and change come together to enable successful transformation.
  • Experience working alongside Enterprise and Business Architecture teams and engaging constructively in design and architecture governance.
  • Strong experience of governance, prioritisation, change control and decision-making within complex programmes.
  • Experience managing customer and supplier relationships with a clear understanding of ownership, accountability and service expectations.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies while maintaining focus on the wider strategic outcome.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to consider both business value and delivery impact when assessing priorities and change.
  • Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills.
  • Clear and credible communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence and create alignment across different levels and disciplines.
  • A collaborative and pragmatic approach, balanced with the confidence to challenge constructively where needed to protect quality, outcomes and strategic alignment.
Key Relationships

This is a highly collaborative role working across a broad transformation community.

Key relationships will include:

  • Business Transformation Lead
  • Transformation Portfolio Lead
  • Enterprise and Business Architects
  • Change Manager
  • Work-package Leads
  • PMO and Governance teams
  • Velonetic counterparts
  • ISB counterparts
Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to have a genuine impact on how transformation is shaped and delivered across the London Market business.

Rather than focusing on one individual programme or workstream, you’ll help create the connection between strategy, technology, architecture and delivery, providing an integrated view of change and helping ensure investment and effort remain focused on the right outcomes.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad stakeholder landscape, influence strategic priorities and help turn complex transformation ambitions into clear, achievable roadmaps that deliver meaningful business value.

If you enjoy bringing together business strategy and technology, creating clarity from complexity and helping turn ambitious transformation objectives into achievable change, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.
