Why Harvey

At Harvey, we’re transforming how legal and professional services operate. By combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise, we’re reshaping how critical knowledge work gets done for decades to come.

This is a rare chance to help build a generational company at a true inflection point. We have strong product-market fit and world-class investor support. We’re scaling fast and defining a new category in real time. The work is ambitious, the bar is high, and the opportunity for growth — personal, professional, and financial — is unmatched.

Our team moves fast, takes ownership, and is deeply committed to the mission — operating with intensity, staying close to our customers, and pushing each other for excellence. We live by three values: Decisiveness, Simplicity, and Job's Not Finished. We act quickly on clear judgment over perfect information, we believe simplicity is what scales, and we're never satisfied with where we are. If you want to do the best work of your career alongside people who share that drive, we'd love to build with you.

At Harvey, the future of professional services is being written today — and we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

Harvey is building a legal transformation practice for the AI era. Our Transformation Office brings together highly experienced consultants and practitioners to help law firms and legal departments turn AI from a tool their teams use into value their business can see.

Harvey’s experts help leaders decide what to change, and how to change it, as they adopt and embed new ways of working: how legal work is organized and governed, how it’s priced by firms and valued by in-house teams and how their people build new capability. The Transformation Office then works alongside their teams to make it happen. Our advice draws on what we see across Harvey's customers in more than 50 countries and on where the technology is heading. Our client work shapes Harvey's product, and the product shapes our advice. Both improve together.

Law firms and legal departments are making decisions now that will shape how they compete for the next decade: which work to prioritize, how to price and value it, how to staff it and how to organize around AI. As Transformation Advisory Lead for Strategy & Economics, you help their leaders make those decisions well. You have made them yourself, inside a firm or a legal department, and advised others through them, so managing partners, general counsel and CFOs treat you as a peer.

You will be one of the first senior specialists in Harvey's Transformation Office. You will help build our strategy and economics offering, bring that expertise to client engagements run by our Engagement Managers and join our Practice Directors when a customer has a specific need in strategy and economics. What you learn will shape how Harvey advises the market and what we build next.

What You'll Do
  • Advise on strategy. Help leaders decide where AI changes their competitive position: which practices/domains, clients and types of work to prioritize, and where to invest.

  • Advise on pricing and value. Help firms and legal departments measure the impact of AI on the cost, speed and value of their work. For firms, that means working through how fee structures and value models need to change; for legal departments, it means showing the value their work creates for the business.

  • Advise on operating models. Help customers redesign how legal work is organized, supported and staffed, including team structures and the roles AI creates or changes.

  • Help leaders make the case for change. Work with managing partners, general counsel and finance leaders to build the case they take to their partnership, board, internal stakeholders or executive team.

  • Build the offering. Create the diagnostics, frameworks and leadership readouts the Transformation Office uses to deliver strategy and economics engagements, and turn each engagement into material the wider team can use.

  • Bring your expertise to early conversations. Join Practice Directors and account teams when a customer has a specific need in strategy and economics.

What You Have
  • 10+ years of experience, including significant time shaping strategy, pricing or operating decisions: for example in a law firm's strategy, pricing or practice management team, in legal operations, external counsel or law firm management, or as chief of staff to a general counsel. Experience in a legal-sector consulting practice is a strong plus.

  • Deep fluency in legal economics. For law firms: leverage, practice-group and matter profitability, pricing and fee structures. For legal departments: cost-center dynamics, outside-counsel spend and how the value of legal work is measured.

  • A track record of advising senior legal leaders through high-stakes decisions, with the presence to hold a room that includes finance.

  • A clear point of view on how AI will change the business of law, grounded in how the economics actually move.

  • Evidence that you have built frameworks or methods that others adopted and kept using.

  • The judgment to discuss efficiency in a way that builds support for change rather than fear about displacement.

  • Energy for building something new while the playbook is still being written.
