Staff Nurse

Location: New Victoria Hospital, Kingston upon Thames (KT2 7EG)
Permanent Full Time

37.5hrs (Monday – Saturday Shifts)
From £39,078 + Fantastic Benefits

How you’ll help us make health happen

As a Staff Nurse, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across our inpatient services. Working closely with consultants, nursing colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care programmes while ensuring patients receive exceptional support throughout their hospital stay.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in line with professional standards and hospital policies.

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for patients.

  • Monitor patient progress, identifying and responding to changes in condition appropriately.

  • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical protocols.

  • Support patients and their families throughout admission, treatment, and discharge.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective clinical handovers.

  • Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.

  • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, clinical governance, and risk management standards.

  • Support the development of colleagues, students, and new team members through training and mentorship.

  • Contribute to maintaining a professional, organised, and high-performing clinical environment.

What we’re looking for

  • Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.

  • High attention to detail and strong clinical judgement.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to changing service needs.

  • Committed to continuous professional and personal development.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a patient-focused approach.

  • Newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply.

  • Previous surgical experience, mentoring experience, and teaching skills would be advantageous.
