Job Description:

Darktrace is looking for a Manager, Content Marketing to create compelling content that brings our product, customer, and category stories to life across formats.

Working closely with Product Marketing, Campaigns, Threat Research, and subject matter experts across the business, you'll translate complex cybersecurity concepts into engaging, audience-focused content that supports brand awareness, thought leadership, and demand generation.

This role combines strategic storytelling with hands-on content creation, spanning long-form thought leadership, short-form campaign assets, multimedia content, and emerging AI-powered content formats. You'll help shape how Darktrace communicates with technical and executive audiences while ensuring content remains relevant, differentiated, and impactful.

What will I be doing:

Content Strategy & Editorial Ownership

  • Own the content calendar and editorial roadmap across blogs, long-form assets (thought leadership, reports, ebooks), and short-form copy (social, email, snackable content),
  • Develop and maintain Darktrace's editorial voice and quality bar across all written content, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines,
  • Partner with PMM to translate product positioning and messaging into compelling narrative content that supports campaign themes,
  • Source, brief, and edit content from internal subject matter experts (Product, Threat Research/Intelligence, Sales Engineering) and external freelancers/agencies as needed.

Content Creation & Multimedia Storytelling

  • Write and edit high-quality long-form content, including thought leadership articles, reports, customer stories, ebooks, and blogs,
  • Create short-form content that supports integrated campaigns, social channels, email nurture programs, and executive communications,
  • Develop content for emerging formats, including video scripts, webinars, presentation narratives, and multimedia storytelling experiences,
  • Partner with Design and Creative teams to develop content that combines strong storytelling with engaging visual execution,
  • Collaborate with the SEO/AEO Content Manager to ensure content is optimized for discoverability without compromising quality or narrative impact.

AI-Powered Content Innovation

  • Leverage AI tools to improve content research, ideation, drafting, repurposing, and production workflows,
  • Experiment with emerging AI content capabilities and share best practices across the marketing organization,
  • Help identify opportunities to scale content creation through AI-assisted workflows while maintaining editorial quality and brand consistency,
  • Partner with the broader content team to explore how AI agents can support content operations and campaign execution.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Integrated Campaigns to ensure content is developed as an integral part of campaign strategy rather than as a downstream deliverable,
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing to ensure messaging, positioning, and customer insights are consistently reflected across content,
  • Work with Enablement to adapt content for Sales and SDR use where appropriate,
  • Measure content performance in partnership with Analytics and the SEO/AEO Content Manager, using insights to continuously improve effectiveness.

What experience do I need:

Experience

  • Extensive experience in content marketing or editorial roles, including significant experience in a B2B or technology environment, ideally cybersecurity or adjacent enterprise technology,
  • Proven track record writing and/or editing B2B content across formats — long-form thought leadership, blogs, and short-form social/campaign copy,
  • Experience translating input from subject matter experts into clear, compelling narrative content for both technical and business audiences.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and audiences,
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, engaging narratives for both technical and executive stakeholders,
  • Strong understanding of how content supports demand generation, campaign execution, and business growth,
  • Experience developing content across long-form, short-form, and multimedia formats,
  • Familiarity with AI-powered content creation tools and a willingness to experiment with new approaches,
  • Strong editorial judgment and the ability to balance creativity with business impact,
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.

Desirable

  • Experience writing about cybersecurity, AI, cloud, or other complex enterprise technology topics,
  • Experience developing video scripts, webinar content, podcasts, or other multimedia assets,
  • Experience using AI tools to support content creation, optimisation, or workflow automation,
  • Experience managing freelance writers or content agencies,
  • Familiarity with SEO/AEO fundamentals sufficient to collaborate effectively on optimized content briefs,

Benefits:

  • 23 days’ holiday + all public holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years of service,

  • Additional day off for your birthday,

  • Private medical insurance which covers you, your cohabiting partner and children,

  • Life insurance of 4 times your base salary,

  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme,

  • Enhanced family leave,

  • Confidential Employee Assistance Program,

  • Cycle to work scheme.

As a growing business strengthening its governance and controls, this role plays a part in supporting high standards of integrity and accountability.
