Your role at Dynatrace

Join our Visual Design team within Design Foundations and help shape the visual systems that support the Dynatrace product and its broader ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of visual design, design language, and system-level thinking, ensuring cohesion, scalability, and clarity across all touchpoints.

Unlike product design system work or embedded roles for specific applications, this position focuses on foundational building blocks that enable consistency and self-service.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead initiatives that bring coherence to our visual language and reduce fragmentation.
  • Develop well-structured, reusable components that empower teams across the organization, beyond product.
  • Create and maintain foundational systems such as:
    • Diagramming standards
    • Key asset libraries
    • Color systems
    • Shared visual assets supporting product storytelling, usability, and brand recognition

Your work will have a broad impact, ensuring that our design language scales effectively and delivers a unified experience across the Dynatrace ecosystem.

What will help you succeed
  • 6+ years of experience in UX and/or Visual Design, with a strong focus on design systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma, not just as a design tool but as a system-building platform
  • A sharp eye for visual cohesion, consistency, and detail
  • Experience in enterprise software design is highly valued
  • Ability to connect design language layers to implementation and collaborate across disciplines
  • Skilled in translating complex requirements into structured, actionable design outcomes
  • Proven experience with scalable visual frameworks, documentation, and design system architecture principles
  • Deep understanding of color systems, iconography, layout, typography, and motion, and how they harmonize into a coherent visual foundation
  • Passion for staying ahead of emerging design trends and technologies
  • Curiosity about AI, agent-based tooling, and automation to enhance design workflows and scalability

Portfolio Guidelines

When applying, include a link to your online portfolio featuring 1-2 complex projects that best represent your UX expertise. Choose projects that demonstrate strong visual UX design and are relevant to enterprise-level digital products (B2B, SaaS, desktop software).

For each project:

  • Highlight the business challenge or user needs you addressed.
  • Show the outcomes and impact of your work.
  • Clearly describe your role and responsibilities, including the strategies, processes, and design decisions you used to navigate complexity.

Please avoid mobile or B2C examples - we’re looking for experience with large-scale systems and software products.

Why you will love being a Dynatracer
  • A one-product software company creating real value for the largest enterprises and millions of end customers globally, striving for a world where software works perfectly.
  • Working with the latest technologies and at the forefront of innovation in tech on scale; but also, in other areas like marketing, design, or research.
  • A team that thinks outside the box, welcomes unconventional ideas, and pushes boundaries.
  • An environment that fosters innovation, enables creative collaboration, and allows you to grow.
  • A globally unique and tailor-made career development program recognizing your potential, promoting your strengths, and supporting you in achieving your career goals.
  • A truly international mindset that is being shaped by the diverse personalities, expertise, and backgrounds of our global team.
  • For this position we offer exclusive relocation support to our R&D Headquarters in Linz, ranked among the top seven most sustainable cities in the world, where cutting-edge innovation intersects with an exceptional quality of life and affordable living costs! Click this link to find out more.
