Senior Software Engineer - (C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a front-end framework)
FactSet is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Client Communications team within the Platform Infrastructure Engineering department, focused on creating and maintaining applications and services that allow FactSet to deliver meaningful information to clients in a way that is convenient for them, including through FactSet’s Generative AI platform. As part of this team, you will develop the tools to increase end user awareness and engagement with our products, as well as create better, more empowered users of all FactSet products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain high-quality code.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product developers, strategists, and clients to brainstorm ideas, implement prototypes and gather feedback.
- Follow best practices such as code reviews, testing, documentation, and version control.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications and systems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience developing web applications and services.
Critical Skills:
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Strong software development fundamentals in object-oriented programming.
- Experience with C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and a front-end framework (e.g. Vue.js, React).
- Willingness to learn other programming languages and technologies in the team’s tech stack.
Highly Desired Skills
- Experience with AWS
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts (Docker, GitHub Actions, etc...)
- Experience developing with AWS products, including DynamoDB, Glue, Lambda.
- Exposure to relational databases (PostgreSQL, MariaDB, Microsoft SQL)
- Knowledge of how HTTP-based APIs work.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to start with ambiguously defined problems and work them into concrete solutions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
