In today’s constantly evolving threat landscape, Cyber Security is the backbone of a resilient business. At the core of our cyber resilience is a mature and highly capable Security Operations function, anchored by the Global Cyber Security Operations Centre (GSOC).

This is a role where business insight meets cyber regulation and controls skills, to keep the organisation secure, agile and ahead of the curve. Are you ready to take on the challenge?

LSEG is a global entity in financial markets infrastructure and data. We are forward-leaning and digitally daring. With pioneering threat intelligence, advanced analytics, and a steadfast focus on cyber defence, Security Operations works with our partners to protect billions in assets and ensure trust in every transaction.

This role is at the heart of the Security Operations function within the Security Operations Business Management pillar. It drives the management and oversight of critical performance metrics, delivering sharp and timely incident reporting alongside audit and regulatory compliance - ensuring seamless engagement with our partners at all levels.

As the Senior Controls Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding LSEG by translating complex regulatory requirements, audit findings, cyber incidents, and control frameworks into actionable insights and clear reporting.

You’ll be the bridge between technical teams, regulators and senior stakeholders—confidently reporting on control effectiveness, driving strategic decisions, and ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.

As part of the team, you will have the visibility and mandate to proactively identify opportunities for innovation in how Security Operations strengthens its compliance posture and control framework. Success in this role requires a sharp analytical mind capable of navigating control data, spotting gaps, and anticipating regulatory risks before they materialise.

You will become the domain expert across Security Operation’s various services, tooling and data sets in order to represent the function expertly in audit and regulatory settings. This role is instrumental in upholding governance standards and navigating complex audit and regulatory landscapes - keeping the organisation both compliant and cyber-resilient.

The key opportunities of the role:

  • Establish yourself as a domain expert for Security Operations’ controls, processes and infrastructure, to meet the Group’s audit requirements and produce evidence reports. This translates to identifying, quantifying and enacting innovative approaches to audit and regulatory demands that shape our approach.

  • Delivery and advancement of the Security Operations Metrics Program. This encompasses preparing and communicating reports, proposals, and updates to the Security Operations leadership, our customers and senior collaborators across the group.

  • Drive department initiatives and collaboration, with a proactive approach to identifying, quantifying and implementing change to improve efficiency

What makes you a great fit:

  • Evidenced knowledge in driving audit readiness and regulatory compliance in a cyber security setting through robust cyber control frameworks and proactive risk management.

  • Strong understanding of Cyber Security Operations controls and cyber incident management process. Understanding of a Global Security Operations Centre’s function and Cyber Incident Management processes.

  • Evidenced experience of responding to audits and confidence under regulatory scrutiny is a strong asset

  • Ability to gather, assess and communicating information tailored to different audiences, including senior leadership and board members.

  • Experience in metrics reporting and understanding of Key Risk and Key Performance Indicators, standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, DORA)

  • Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills. Responsive, articulate, and ready to address challenges in real time with thoughtful, accurate input.

  • Experience and knowledge of cyber security, particularly in global financial services or regulated environments

Even if you don’t tick every box, if this feels like a place where you could thrive, we’d love to hear from you. We value potential and passion.

Join us and be part of a team that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. If you're ready to take your career to the next level and make a significant impact, we'd love to hear from you.
