About Us

MarketAxess is on a journey to digitally transform one of the world’s largest financial markets, enabling the shift from analog, phone-based trading to a fully electronic marketplace. Why does this matter? Because our platform makes trading fixed-income more accessible, ultimately improving transparency, efficiency, and competition in the marketplace. Changing the way an established industry transacts is no easy feat. There will be twists and turns, because no one’s ever done this before. But now, more than 2,000 clients around the world rely on our solutions, and that number is only expected to grow in the years ahead. We know where we’re going. How we get there is up to us. Join us and help Take Us There.

The Role

Join a high‑momentum team at MarketAxess, the global leader transforming fixed income trading and data. We’re expanding fast and looking for a bold, data‑driven sales leader who thrives in the world of quantitative workflows, market structure insights, and cutting‑edge analytics. If you sell to quants, data scientists, researchers, and systematic trading teams today—and love shaping how these and other clients extract value from data—you’ll feel right at home.
In this role, you’ll own a high‑impact territory and drive revenue from our suite of proprietary fixed income data. You’ll deepen engagement with existing clients, uncover new use cases across quant and research teams, and partner closely with colleagues across the Data Group to accelerate adoption of our data offerings. If you’re energized by partnering with brilliant quantitative teams, and helping clients unlock new value from unique datasets, this role offers the runway and the impact you’re looking for.
How You’ll Help Take Us There

  • Grow and deepen a high‑value book of business across quantitative, data, and research‑driven user groups.
  • Drive new business by uncovering data‑driven opportunities and shaping compelling narratives for quants and technical buyers.
  • Identify and pursue data opportunities deeper within existing subscriber franchises for different use cases (IPV, Risk, Research).
  • Navigate complex sales cycles from discovery through close, leveraging a structured and disciplined sales methodology.
  • Build strong client relationships with everyone from data analysts to senior market‑structure stakeholders.
  • Translate client needs into clear value stories—how our data enhances models, improves workflows, and drives alpha or efficiency.
  • Analyze large sets of data to identify market trends, tradable patterns, and leading indicators to advise current and prospective customers.
  • Mentor and be a role model to analysts and associates while demonstrating firm values.
  • Partner across the Data team, sales, product, and technology to ensure clients realize full value from our datasets.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of data‑focused sales experience, ideally selling to quants, data scientists, researchers, or systematic teams.
  • Deep understanding of fixed income markets, data usage patterns, and how firms deploy data across front, middle, and back.
  • Proven success accelerating revenue growth in complex, technical, or data‑intensive environments.
  • Strong communication skills—able to articulate data value to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience using Salesforce.com to manage pipelines and forecast effectively.
  • A strong existing network within quant, trading, risk, or research user groups (preferred).
  • A passion for electronic trading, market structure innovation, and helping clients evolve their data strategies.
  • Creative problem‑solving skills and the resilience to navigate a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment.
  • Highly organized, disciplined approach to follow‑ups, client engagement, and pipeline management.

What You Can Expect from Us

  • Central Location: based at our city offices near St Paul's.
  • Free Food: We provide lunch each day of the week when the employee attends the office via our vendor Feedr as well as breakfast cereals, office snacks and drinks from our free vending machines
  • Paid Time Off: 25 days annual leave entitlement plus 2 charity days

Collaboration and innovation are integral to our success – it's how we got to where we are and how we’ll maintain and grow our competitive advantage. We believe this best happens in an office environment. Employees in Sales work in the office 4 or more days a week. This approach still allows for flexibility depending on the business function you work within but also helps us maintain a collaborative office environment long-term.
