The Role

The Product Specialist function plays a critical role in bridging clients, sales, and product, ensuring MarketAxess’ solutions are clearly articulated, commercially adopted, and continuously refined based on real client needs. 

While closely aligned with Product Management, this role is primarily client facing and commercial in natureProduct Specialists spend significant time engaging directly with clients and sales teams - presenting solutions, supporting pitches, leading product discussions, reviewing performance, and gathering structured feedback that informs product development. 

The Senior Product Associate acts as a technical sales specialist, serving as a trusted subject matter expert on MarketAxess products, client workflows, and fixed income market structure. They work alongside Sales to drive adoption, articulate value propositions, and support complex client conversations, while ensuring client feedback is accurately captured and fed back into the product roadmap. 

The key objectives of this role are:  

  • Fully enabling our sales organisation to achieve product targets through a combination of data, education, collateral and direct specialist sales support
  • Ensuring that our product roadmap remains aligned with current and future client demand and evolving market trends. 

In addition, a Senior Product Associate is expected to own strategic engagement across one or more product areas or solutions. This includes partnering with Sales on account strategies, identifying opportunities for deeper product usage, and helping shape how MarketAxess positions its solutions in evolving electronic credit markets 

The ideal candidate will have an e-trading product, Fixed Income, sales experience. They will also have experience in market structure in Eurobond, US or EM credit markets and how clients trade in these markets. They will be able to use this knowledge to drive a sales engagement strategy that will help MarketAxess accelerate the evolution of fixed income electronic trading. 

How You’ll Help Take Us There

  • Collaborate with Senior Product Specialists and sales to define and execute client engagement strategies.
  • Use analytics tools to report on product usage and market trends.
  • Analyse client and market data to identify key drivers and produce targeted sales materials.
  • Attend meetings, deliver product demos to clients, and offer expertise on changes.
  • Help promote, and champion our solutions including (but not limited to) Portfolio Trading, Automation and Block Trading workflows internally and externally with clients.
  • Gather and prioritise client feedback for product management.
  • Educate sales teams about product and market updates; develop supporting materials like guides and presentations.
  • Create marketing materials with input from product, sales, marketing, and legal teams.
  • Build tracking tools for product KPIs and progress.
  • Assist with product launches, provide updates, and promote product development internally.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years of product/sales experience/trading in relevant market
  • Electronic trading knowledge, gained at an investment Bank, asset manager, private bank or electronic trading platform
  • Self-motivated, nimble-learning and tenacious
  • Excellent communication and customer facing skills
  • Excellent PowerPoint production and presentation skills
  • Analytical mind and strong Excel skills to mine and present data, with appetite to explore use of AI technology to increase efficiency.
  • Ability to manage projects and prioritise work effectively
  • Service and results orientated
  • Fixed income market experience is preferred 
  • Proficiency in French, German, Spanish or Italian is a plus
  • Knowledge of the buyside and/or sell side trading workflow is preferred
