General Description:

The Senior Pricing Analyst will be part of D2L’s Finance team focused on managing and negotiating commercial contracts on behalf of D2L. This role is a critical part of ensuring the successful execution of D2L’s pricing strategies, providing for the continuous improvement of CPQ automation tools, delivering timely and insightful reporting and analysis, and enabling D2L’s international sales teams to quote and price with confidence. This role will be focused on supporting growth outside of North America and will act as the strategic voice advocating for the unique needs in each region, building scalable processes to support growth and performance. 

How You Will Make an Impact 

  • Develop and review strategic pricing proposals, assisting in real-time deal support and analysis via Salesforce. Negotiate with, and recommend to, the sales team pricing and contracting solutions that balance the desire to secure new business with the desire to reduce risk. 
  • Lead the pricing preparation of all contracts, amendments, and renewals including review of finance-specific contractual terms in close collaboration with D2L’s legal team. 
  • Support leadership in the implementation and maintenance of processes to monitor and report on pricing strategies, KPIs and results. 
  • Support leadership in reviewing competitive intelligence and market analysis to shape and develop pricing strategies. 
  • Provide independent analysis and recommendations for pricing existing and new SaaS offerings predicated on customer value, competitive positioning, internal costing, and other relevant considerations. 
  • Analyze historical revenue, margins, and profitability to provide actionable and timely insights to D2L’s management team. 
  • Communicate insights from your experience in deal support to management, acting as an advocate for international sales teams and a change agent to deliver improvements which result in an optimal and regionally sensitive pricing strategy and process. 
  • In partnership with IT, leverage a deep understanding of business processes and downstream impacts to propose and implement changes in the pricing tool which support efficiency in day-to-day operations. 
  • Partner with sales enablement and sales operations teams to ensure the global organization is enabled on pricing strategies as well as quoting and pricing best practices. 
  • Special Projects as required.

  • You are eager to leverage your analytical skills to impact data-driven decisions and outcomes in a fast-paced environment. Through data analysis, you can provide management and key stakeholders with meaningful and actionable insights in support of achieving operational goals and progress towards KPI targets. 
  • You are a skilled project manager, with the ability to impact change through process improvements which build efficiencies and enable operations to scale using systems, tools and reporting. Success in this area also requires strong execution and project management skills. 
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. You have experience communicating effectively to a wide variety of audiences in a clear and concise manner.
  • Approximately 3 to 5 years’ experience in a finance, pricing operations or sales operations roles. 
  • Experience in a CRM system. Experience with Salesforce and CPQ is desired. 
  • Strong Excel skills with a proven ability to organize and analyze large sets of data into insights. Experience with Microsoft PowerBI is an asset. 
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Experience in the software industry is an asset. 
  • Experience with a global, multi-currency organization is an asset.
