Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) is recruiting an experienced Pensions Sales Consultant to drive new business and revenue growth within our Workplace Savings team. This senior, client-facing role is hybrid (minimum three days per week in the office) with regular travel to meet clients and intermediaries. Candidates can be based from any of our UK offices.
About the role: This is a senior sales role for a high-performing pensions professional. You will lead complex new business pursuits, develop strategic relationships with introducers and corporate clients, and identify cross-sell opportunities across Employee Benefits, Flexible Benefits, Healthcare and Group Risk. You will be accountable for a substantial sales pipeline, delivering against ambitious targets and maintaining the highest standards of commercial and regulatory compliance.
We will count on you to:
Manage your own new business pipeline, from lead generation to contract execution, using our CRM and sales systems.
Proactively build and deepen strategic relationships with introducers, advisers, consultants and senior client stakeholders.
Win and convert large, complex corporate pension opportunities and drive sustainable revenue growth.
Cross-sell MMB and MMC specialist capabilities, identifying opportunities for colleagues across the wider group.
Deliver outstanding client service and commercial negotiation, ensuring proposals meet quality, governance and compliance standards.
What you need to have:
Extensive, demonstrable pension sales experience — essential. Proven track record of winning corporate pension new business, including large or complex schemes.
Strong network of introducers, advisers or consultant contacts with evidence of generating new business through those relationships.
Deep understanding of corporate pensions, governance and regulatory considerations.
Commercial acumen and experience negotiating and closing commercial contracts.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with senior client audiences.
Self-motivated, resilient and able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
