Job Brief:
Wahed’s UK business is growing fast, and operational excellence is what makes that growth sustainable. As Senior Operations Associate, you will work directly alongside the Head of UK, serving as their operational right hand and the connective tissue between every function in the business.
This is a high-trust, high-visibility role. You will own the full operational rhythm of the UK business - from performance reporting to regulatory submissions to launch plans for special projects. You’ll drive day-to-day execution with local sales, marketing, and customer services teams, and lead a portfolio of projects with global compliance, product, tech, finance, and investment functions. The breadth of exposure here is rare for a role at this level - and for the right person, an exceptional platform for growth.
Job Description:
Be the Pulse of Performance - Own the operational reporting rhythm of the UK business, maintaining an accurate and timely view of performance across weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles, working closely with sales, operations and customer services to analyse performance.
Build Customer-Centric Operations - Own customer operations processes, ensuring the integrity of customer reports such as purification reports, tax packs, and client reports, while generating meaningful insights that drive better outcomes for customers.
Be the Operational Backbone - As the connective tissue across every function, you will work closely with compliance, product, tech, and investment teams - from ensuring our regulatory reporting is watertight to getting new products and investment vehicles off the ground. For the right person, this is an unparalleled opportunity to build deep expertise and relationships across the entire business.
Raise the Bar on Everything We Do - Drive operational excellence and scalability across all processes, working closely with global teams to optimise tools, automation, and ways of working to deliver consistently better outcomes.
Build the Future of Wahed - Own and project manage strategic growth initiatives across the UK business - from launching new funds and product features to identifying opportunities through customer and market research that drive product, sales, and operational improvements.
Job Specification:
2-6 years of experience in operations, fintech, financial services, or a high-growth startup.
Demonstrable experience owning operational processes - financial, regulatory, or otherwise - with a strong track record of accuracy and reliability.
Comfortable reading and working with financial data: P&L statements, AUM figures, fee schedules, and reconciliation reports.
Familiarity with the UK financial services regulatory environment; experience in an FCA-regulated firm is a strong advantage.
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides) is essential. Experience with Metabase, Zendesk, Iterable, or GMass is a strong advantage.
Skills & AttributesYou take ownership. You follow through on commitments, work without hand-holding, and hold yourself to a high standard even on routine tasks.
You are a clear and confident communicator, able to work across different functions and senior leadership and hold stakeholders accountable to deadlines.
You are highly organised and can manage a wide range of recurring and ad hoc responsibilities simultaneously without dropping the ball.
You are detail-oriented to a fault - especially when working with financial data, client information, or regulatory submissions where errors carry real consequences.
You are curious and project-minded - not content to simply execute tasks, but always looking to improve how things work.
You are deeply aligned with Wahed’s mission to build an inclusive, ethical, and interest-free financial system for everyone.
Why Wahed?Grow Fast, Learn Faster. This is not a role where you sit in a lane. You will touch every part of the business - from board-level reporting to product launches - building a breadth of experience that most people spend years trying to find.
Work at the Top. You will work directly alongside the Head of UK, with real visibility into strategic decisions and a genuine seat at the table. Your work will shape how the business operates, not just support it.
Be Part of Something Bigger. Join a diverse, passionate, and mission-driven team from across the globe, all dedicated to making finance more accessible and equitable. This is a rare opportunity to build a career at a company whose mission actually matters.
