About the team and the role

The Motors team is part of eBay’s Global Focused Categories organization, where commercial strategy, marketplace expertise, and category knowledge come together to drive growth across strategically important businesses.

Within the UK, Motors and Parts & Accessories (P&A) is a key business with significant opportunities for growth. In this role, you will help build one of the category’s most important growth areas. You will lead commercial trading projects that deliver value for buyers, support seller success, and drive balanced business performance.

Working across a broad network of cross-functional teams, you will lead high-impact trading initiatives, own strategic projects from concept through execution, and help deliver outstanding experiences during key retail moments. You will also support strategic programs, including eBay Live and automotive services, helping define strategy, manage day-to-day operations, and build strong partnerships with sellers and third-party providers. Reporting to the Motors business, you will act as the primary Business Unit partner for Marketing, Business Development, and Brand Relations, connecting commercial strategy with marketplace execution.

What you will accomplish

  • Drive commercial trading initiatives that grow GMV, optimize trading performance, expand strategic inventory participation, and improve business outcomes through data-driven decision making.

  • Develop and manage the retail trading calendar, aligning commercial priorities with key promotional and seasonal events to increase marketplace impact.

  • Lead the planning and execution of major retail events, including Black Friday and Cyber Week, delivering strong customer experiences and commercial results.

  • Help grow eBay Live by contributing to strategy, coordinating day-to-day operations, and building collaborative relationships with sellers and third-party production partners.

  • Own and deliver innovative, end-to-end strategic projects within Parts & Accessories, turning new opportunities into scalable commercial initiatives.

  • Partner with Marketing, Business Development, Brand Relations, GCX, GSD, Analytics, and global Motors teams to deliver cross-functional programs and scale procedures across the business.

  • Use customer insights, market trends, competitive intelligence, and performance data to identify growth opportunities and optimize commercial and operational performance.

What you will bring

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial trading, business development, strategic project management, consulting, or a related commercial role; experience in e-commerce or retail marketplaces is preferred.

  • A shown ability to independently lead complex initiatives, navigate ambiguity, and deliver measurable business results.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data and insights into effective commercial strategies and recommendations.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders.

  • Advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (including Sheets and Slides) and Microsoft Office (including Excel and PowerPoint); SQL experience is a plus.

  • A collaborative approach, strong relationship-building skills, and a passion for retail innovation and helping independent sellers succeed.

  • Experience in management consulting or a consulting environment is an advantage.
