Here, you’ll tackle complex, high‑visibility problems with exceptional teammates and grow your career as we build the future of global banking. If that sounds like you, let’s build what’s next.

The role:

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, Banking & New Market Development, EMEA, to be based in London or Amsterdam, to own our key strategic relationships related to our banking infrastructure in the UK and Europe.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, ‘out of the box’ thinker, who has worked in the payments and/or financial services industry. Experience building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions in the UK and Europe whilst working at a payment institution/EMI is essential for this role. You must have a strong network of banking partners, financial institutions, and payment networks to help Airwallex scale.

You will:

  • Lead, develop, and implement a banking partnerships strategy for the UK and Europe that supports our vision for Airwallex’s global collections and payouts network.

  • Manage our most strategic partnership opportunities, both existing and new, and act as the main point of contact between Airwallex and our partners.

  • Conduct market research to understand the competitive landscape to ensure that Airwallex maintains its position as a payment leader.

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate with local banking partners, acquirers, and payment methods as Airwallex expands to new geographies.

  • Coordinate due diligence processes with prospective partners and project manage onboarding with new partners.

  • Develop yourself as an industry thought leader.

Who you are:

  • You’re an exceptional communicator – you’re able to connect with people at all levels, both internally and externally, and communicate project expectations effectively.

  • You thrive under pressure – and work well with constant change and the ambiguity of a startup environment.

  • You have strong negotiation skills – to navigate complex commercial discussions to ensure the best outcome for Airwallex.

  • You’re a team player - work cohesively with colleagues from across the organisation and be able to inspire a shared vision.

You have:

  • 10+ years of experience working with financial institutions, global and regional banks, and payment networks.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to build and maintain relationships.

  • A good understanding of compliance and onboarding with global and regional banks.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including Product, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Commercial teams.

  • International experience - working in multiple markets or managing cross-border relationships.

  • A proven track record of working with technology-led businesses in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Sales

Our London office is scaling fast. We're a 140+ strong team and growing, and our Sales team is right at the heart of it. The momentum is real: we're investing over $1bn into the region and $590m into the UK. Revenue is up 116% year on year and volumes have surged 226%, and we’ve only captured a fraction of what’s possible. That's where you come in. You'll be selling a world-class proven product into a market that's still wide open. Global heavyweights like McLaren Racing, Arsenal, Bolt, Qantas, and Carwow already run on Airwallex. For you, that means real ownership from the start, a role you'll scale, and scope that grows as fast as you can sell. It's a rare moment to join: proven product, open market, and a team going places
