Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of the Global Initiative team within the Social Responsibility (SR) organization, this position will play a meaningful role in setting strategic direction for impactful execution of both current and future portfolio of global initiatives.

Please note: No relocation is offered for this position.

Core Responsibilities

Across all responsibilities, there is a need to take a co-creative and inclusive approach with SR regional teams, LEGO Group teams, and external partners. Through exemplary initiative leadership, partner engagement, and strategic thinking, within and beyond SR, this role will ensure initiatives deliver impact for both communities and the LEGO Group.

World Play Day/IDOP: In 2023, the UN ratified the International Day of Play (IDOP) which takes place on June 11 each year. The LEGO Group celebrates the International Day of Play through our own World Play Day (WPD). This role will play a key role in driving SR’s contributions to both.

WPD consists of a brand moment, employee engagement, and social impact activation. This role will:

  • Act as touch point and collaboration partner for the Global Brand team and Our LEGO Agency to ensure an integrated proposal on WPD cutting across external brand moment, employee engagement and social impact activation and the two latter in alignment with company strategy for social impact

  • Act as touch point and collaboration partner for Corporate Brand Communication and Government & Public Affairs teams to ensure alignment with annual direction of WPD and support for SR activation of WPD.

  • Act as conduit between global vision and regional SR teams, ensuring objectives are clear. This includes partnering closely with regional and global SR colleagues to facilitate and drive the integration of WPD into existing work and OSIS pilots/initiatives as well as ensure activation in line with WPD global direction.

  • Partner closely with the SR Play Engagement team to ensure strong integration with employee WPD.

  • Equip and enable regional and global teams with resources and ideas needed to activate World Play Day with partners, in close collaboration with Play Engagement team.

IDOP/UNICEF: As part of activating IDOP, the LEGO Foundation has entered into a 3-year partnership with UNICEF. This role will:

  • Be the LEGO Group’s touch point for LEGO Foundation on WPD/IDOP Incl. as well as the UNICEF partnership to drive delivery according to plan.

  • Lead partnership with UNICEF with specific focus on private sector coalition re IDOP and LEGO Group support for this.

  • Drive alignments across SR (regional teams, Play Engagement team) to integrate IDOP effectively.

  • Create alignment across business functions (GPA, Brand, CBC) to integrate IDOP into wider business objectives.

Global Initiatives work: As needed, lead other Global Initiative projects and ensure project management and execution, partnership development, evaluation, and communication to raise visibility.

Do you have what it takes?
  • Extensive experience working with social impact initiatives, in corporate settings, and with other business teams.
  • Experience with developing global initiatives in co-creation with colleagues and partners and enabling local implementation.

  • Proven ability to lead and drive complex projects with multiple collaborators.

  • Mature experience with driving a team of specialists towards a shared delivery.

  • Collaborator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Patient, flexible, proactive self-starter with proven ability to creatively solve problems based on high level objectives – with no road map.

  • Curiosity to explore, learn, and seek solutions from multiple sources.

  • Proficient written and verbal communication (in English) skills including the ability to deliver engaging, impactful presentations.
