Are you ready to take on a dynamic and impactful role where your expertise in contracts can truly make a difference? Our project pipeline has never been more active, with exciting opportunities in energy transition, Power-to-X, and the pharmaceutical sector. We are therefore looking for a Contract Manager to join our Northern European Hub Contract Management team. You will support our sales and project execution teams within our Energy Business Unit in Denmark, and you will be based in Ballerup.

As Contract Manager, you will be the vital link between Sales and Operations, ensuring contract management remains a strategic priority. Success in this role requires the ability to interpret complex contract terms, apply legal principles, and translate them into practical solutions that support both tendering and project execution.

You will:

  • Support the tendering process with thorough contract reviews, ensuring contracts are robust and executable.

  • Provide proactive legal and contractual advice during project execution, including managing extensions of time, variation orders, and amendments.

  • Collaborate closely with ABB’s Legal & Integrity function on strategy, dispute resolution, and compliance.

  • Develop contract strategies that balance legal requirements with business objectives.

  • Work closely with cross‑functional project teams throughout all project phases, ensuring contractual requirements are understood, risks are managed proactively, and decisions are aligned with both legal and commercial objectives.

Team and Culture

You will join an international team of experienced Contract Managers working across borders and disciplines. We offer a flexible and collaborative environment where professionalism, knowledge-sharing, and contractual precision are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with ABB’s Contract Management Framework.

  • Draft, review, and comment on contract terms, annexes, and project documentation.

  • Support negotiations in line with ABB’s Contract Management Policy.

  • Identify and mitigate risks while maximizing opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Defend ABB’s contractual interests with customers and suppliers.

  • Provide internal guidance and training, embedding lessons learned into future practice.

Qualifications for the role

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in contract management within technical or project-driven organizations.

  • A legal degree at master’s level, alternatively higher education in Business, Finance, Engineering or Project Management – together with experience and proven results from working with contractual issues.

  • Proven ability to navigate complex contracts (e.g., FIDIC or similar).

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a collaborative mindset.

  • Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive approach.

  • Fluent English skills, and preferably Danish, both spoken and written.  Fluency in Danish and English, both written and spoken.
