Join our dynamic GSMA Brand and Content Strategy team and contribute to the success of multiple events through creative and effective email marketing strategies. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your technical skills, collaborate with diverse teams, and play a pivotal role in engaging our audience through compelling email campaigns.  

About the role

As a Senior Email Marketing Manager within the Brand and Content Strategy team, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing high-quality email campaigns for various events including the MWC Global Event Series and the M360 Event Series. 

Leveraging your expertise in HTML/CSS, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, A/B testing – and collaborative skills with editorial, design teams, business partners, and project managers – you will ensure the seamless execution of email marketing initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass lifecycle management, analysis, recommendations, and continuous enhancement of email strategies, fostering engagement and optimising campaign performance. 

Email Campaign Development: Collaborate with Marketing Business Partners and the design team to create and deploy responsive HTML/CSS-based email templates and campaigns within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. 

Template Build and Maintenance: Utilise HTML/CSS and email marketing best practices to create and code interactive experiences for email. Identify and address coding and template issues to ensure correct rendering across various email clients and devices, promoting a seamless user experience. 

A/B Testing: Plan, execute, and analyse A/B tests to optimise email content, subject lines, layouts, and other key elements for improved engagement, click-through rates, and conversions. 

Event-Centric Approach: Understand the unique requirements of each event, crafting personalised, event-specific email campaigns that effectively communicate the value proposition and encourage event participation. 

Collaboration: Work closely with editorial and design teams, ensuring seamless integration of content and graphics into email campaigns that align with brand guidelines and maintain a consistent tone and style. 

Project Management: Manage and prioritise email development projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to deadlines, coordinating with project managers to align with overall marketing schedules. 

Lifecycle Management: Implement effective email lifecycle strategies, covering welcome emails, engagement campaigns, post-event follow-ups, and re-engagement initiatives. 

Analysis and Recommendations: Analyse email campaign performance metrics, derive insights, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance the effectiveness of future campaigns. 

Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of email marketing best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies, contributing to the continuous enhancement of the team's email capabilities. 

About You

  • Proven track record as an Email Developer or in a similar role, demonstrating a robust portfolio of successful email campaigns. 

  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS, showcasing the ability to hand-code responsive emails. 

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a comparable email marketing platform. 

  • Solid understanding of A/B testing methodologies, with a history of analysing and interpreting campaign data. 

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to facilitate effective teamwork and partnerships with cross-functional teams and business partners. 

  • Strong project management skills, adept at handling multiple projects concurrently while meeting deadlines. 

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, make informed decisions, and optimise email performance. 

  • Familiarity with email deliverability best practices and anti-spam regulations. 

  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality output. 

  • Proficient in creating meaningful and impactful reports using various data sources. 

  • Advanced user of Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis. 

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of marketing automation, segmentation, and personalisation strategies. 

  • Experience in email lifecycle marketing and lead nurturing campaigns. 

  • Familiarity with email accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles. 

  • Basic understanding of SQL and AMPscript for data manipulation and personalisation in emails.
