Job Description

The Senior Contracts Manager (SCM) of International Markets will support the regional Director of Financial Operations (DFO) and the Legal Department in EMEA and APAC. The role is responsible for balancing the need to maximise business value and returns, while minimising risk to the organization by maintaining strong controls around our supplier contracting process and structure and assisting with client facing contract negotiations.


The Senior Contracts Manager will work under Legal’s leadership and guidance on all contractual matters for the AGS business. The role will ultimately be responsible for the end to end supplier contracting process, but will also have a strong focus on client contracting and the management of contractual issues with existing clients as well as providing bid support to Business Development. 


The position will require the management, coaching and mentoring of the Contracts Team within EMEA and APAC, as well as enhancements and improvements to existing controls, processes & procedures. 


Responsibilities

  • As the Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of:
    1. All aspects of supplier contracting process for new client implementations and expansions or changes to existing clients;
    2. administration and negotiation of supplier agreements;
    3. administration and negotiation of local client agreements and amendments to client contacts ; and
    4. analysis of supplier/client contracts to support new business and internal business projects.
  • Ensure an effective process for managing the end to end supplier contract negotiations, and the delivery of the process on a day to day basis.
  • Manage moderate to complex agreements with both clients and third-party vendors.
  • Provide support to internal business projects, including analysis of supplier, client and vendor contracts.
  • Review, analyse and respond to RFPs/bid documents/customer agreements, identifying areas of contractual risk and developing appropriate risk mitigation strategies. 
  • In close collaboration with the Legal Department, drafting of agreements including; Amendments to Master Service Agreements, Country Participation Agreements, Statements of Work, and initial drafts of more complex agreements.

Qualifications

  • Strong contract negotiation skills, including a solid understanding of common legal and business terms and conditions and the ability to effectively explain one’s position on such terms and conditions to others.
  • Good working knowledge of complex supply chain structures.
  • Good financial acumen and ability to work alongside finance teams to ensure that contracts are financially viable.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and the implication on the business processes.
  • Must possess a very high level of value-oriented client (both internal and external) support skills.
  • Ability to balance the need for an immediate response with the need for accuracy and completeness of information and to effectively manage competing internal business and legal interests in time-constrained situations. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (including in-person or online presentations, and contract drafting), effective interpersonal skills, problem solving ability. With the ability to interact effectively with all levels of in-house and customer representatives teams.
  • Prior experience in leading and managing in a complex, geographically dispersed environment is a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive experience of contract reviewing/red-lining and hands on negotiation in a commercial environment.
  • A people manager with the ability to develop and coach a team of Contract Management Professionals

Qualifications

  • A-level or Degree qualified or equivalent 
  • Legal Practice Course would be advantageous but not essential
  • Recognised barrister training course or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential
