Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Business Development Manager to join our Wise Platform team. In this role, you will take full commercial ownership of driving our growth with financial institutions and banks across Switzerland.

You will help deliver world-class payment solutions to some of the largest banks, traditional financial institutions, and fast-growing fintechs - powered by Wise’s cutting-edge infrastructure.

Wise Platform has already launched transformational partnerships with leading institutions, including significant success across the DACH region with partners like Raiffeisen Bank International, DKB, and N26, alongside other global Tier-1 leaders such as UniCredit, Standard Chartered, and Morgan Stanley.

Switzerland is a core target financial hub for Wise Platform to offer our service. This role provides the opportunity for a senior individual contributor to spearhead and scale this market. Successful candidates can look forward to a career trajectory that supports growth either through a high-impact IC path or into a leadership and management role.

A Bit About the Role

You will sit at the heart of our commercial engine while maintaining the flexibility for a remote structure depending on setup and experience. In this role, you will:

  • Shape the Market Strategy: Act as the strategic bridge between Swiss bank and enterprise clients and our product teams. Your insights into the needs of the local market will directly steer our product roadmap and regional expansion strategy.

  • Unlock Swiss Scale: Take end-to-end responsibility for mapping, pitching, negotiating, and closing partnerships across Tier 1 legacy incumbents, private wealth managers, and challenger banks.

  • Drive Cross-Functional Wins: Collaborate seamlessly with Pre-Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Implementation teams to bring highly regulated, complex partnerships to life.

Your Mission

  • Build, maintain, and close a robust pipeline of high-value partnerships across our target verticals in Switzerland Tier 1 banks, regional and private banks, as well as working with fast growth digital challengers and fintechs

  • Create, iterate, and execute our go-to-market strategy, refining localized messaging, commercial pricing strategies, and custom-tailored pitches.

  • Actively manage senior-level stakeholders and navigate complex financial RFP processes within Swiss financial networks.

  • Achieve a realistic but ambitious annual new recurring revenue quota

  • Represent Wise and Wise Platform at industry events and financial conferences across Switzerland.

Qualifications

A Bit About You

  • Language Proficiency: You are fully fluent in German, alongside professional English proficiency.

  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 to 8 years of deep experience within payments and/or a specific track record of selling technology products, API infrastructure, or traditional Correspondent Services directly into banks or large financial institutions.

  • Deal Execution: Proven history of managing long, complex enterprise sales cycles from initial top-of-funnel generation down to final legal and economic contract execution.

  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with the Swiss banking landscape, including the unique operational structures of cantonal, private, and universal banks, paired with a strong conceptual grasp of how cross-border payment rails operate.

  • Commercial Acumen: Strongly analytical and data-driven; you have a sharp head for economics and are comfortable owning high-value financial negotiations with institutional procurement and C-suite teams.

  • Mindset: An entrepreneurial, hands-on builder who is as excited about mapping out deep technical product integrations with a client as you are closing commercial structures.
