Team Overview

The Finance billing team works with finance and sales colleagues to provide new and existing TransUnion customers with responsive support on billing enquiries. The team consists of a UK Team Manager, two Senior Billing Analysts in the UK and three Billing Administration Assistants in India. This role reports to the UK Team Manager and is based in Leeds, combining two office days each week with remote working through TransUnion’s “flex together” approach. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

 

Role Overview And Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high standard of service to internal and external customers by completing billing data inputs, reports and related requests accurately and promptly.
  • Interpret complex contracts and letters of variation to identify key billing requirements and correctly configure contract information within billing systems.
  • Support the monthly billing cycle, including raising manual invoices and credit notes.
  • Investigate and resolve complex billing queries in collaboration with finance, sales and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly management information packs for complex contracts managed by the UK team.
  • Track and manage unbilled revenue, escalating risks or issues when appropriate.
  • Support the Revenue Team with monthly revenue-check activities.
  • Provide audit support and ensure billing activities comply with current Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) procedures.
  • Participate in billing-system testing and customer onboarding activities.
  • Follow established controls and processes, identify improvement opportunities and contribute to wider initiatives that strengthen the Group Finance function.

 

Required Knowledge And Experiences

  • At least two years of experience in billing, contract administration or financial administration.
  • Experience interpreting contracts and translating contractual information into accurate billing requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for resolving enquiries and working effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent attention to detail when processing billing information, preparing reports and maintaining financial controls.
  • GCSE grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification.
Required Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for billing data, reconciliations and management information reporting.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to learn and work effectively with billing and financial systems.
  • Experience producing accurate invoices, credit notes and billing reports.
  • Understanding of billing controls and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance procedures.
