Job Description
About Scrumconnect Consulting

Scrumconnect Consulting is a multi-award-winning UK public sector digital consultancy, positively influencing the lives of over forty million UK citizens. We bring deep expertise in agile delivery, digital transformation, and platform engineering across central government.

With a team of over one hundred and twenty-five professionals — more than forty percent of whom are women — we are committed to building inclusive, diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Sales Executive to support new business sales across new and existing public sector accounts. This is a hunter-style role for a self-starter who enjoys opening doors, helping build a pipeline from scratch, and working toward closing contracts against a clear target. You will bring a working understanding of how government procures technology and consulting services, and enthusiasm for learning to navigate multiple departments to help win work.

You will work closely with our bid, capability, and delivery teams to help shape propositions, respond to opportunities, and support relationships through to signed contracts, working under the guidance of senior sales colleagues as you build your track record.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Proactively identify and prospect new sales opportunities across UK central government, local government, health, and other public sector bodies
  • Help build and maintain a pipeline of new logo and new contract opportunities from first contact through to close
  • Open conversations with departments Scrumconnect has not previously worked with, as well as identifying new opportunities within existing accounts
  • Support commercial discussions and contract negotiations, escalating to senior colleagues where appropriate

Framework & Procurement Navigation

  • Develop and apply working knowledge of UK government procurement frameworks (e.g. G-Cloud, Digital Outcomes & Specialists, Crown Commercial Service frameworks, RM frameworks) to identify and pursue live opportunities
  • Support clients and internal teams in understanding procurement routes, rules, and compliance requirements
  • Track framework refreshes, tender notices, and upcoming procurement activity relevant to Scrumconnect's capabilities

Sales Target Delivery

  • Work toward agreed new business sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Provide accurate, regular pipeline updates and reporting to your manager
  • Maintain rigorous pipeline hygiene and CRM discipline

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with bid writers and capability leads to help shape compelling, compliant tender responses and proposals
  • Work with delivery teams to help ensure proposed solutions are deliverable and aligned to client needs
  • Represent Scrumconnect at public sector events, procurement forums, and industry networking opportunities
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Some experience in new business sales, ideally within UK public sector technology or consulting services
  • Interest in and willingness to learn to sell across multiple government departments and sectors, not limited to a single client
  • Working knowledge of UK government procurement frameworks, processes, and rules, or a strong willingness to learn
  • A genuine "go-getter" mentality — self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable helping create opportunities from scratch
  • Confident communicator able to engage public sector stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Developing commercial acumen, including exposure to contract negotiation
  • Organised, with good pipeline and CRM management discipline
Desirable
  • Existing network of public sector contacts across multiple departments
  • Experience selling agile digital delivery, data, or technology consulting services
Our Interview Process

We keep things straightforward. Following an initial CV review, successful candidates will be invited to a short screening call with our recruitment team, followed by a two-stage process comprising a commercial/case discussion and a values-based interview with the hiring team. We aim to move quickly and will keep you informed at every stage.

Diversity and Inclusion

At Scrumconnect Consulting, we believe that diversity drives innovation. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every individual is respected, valued, and supported. We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences, and we actively encourage applications from women, people with disabilities, underrepresented communities, and those seeking flexible working arrangements.
