Reporting Accountant

Location: London - hybrid 50%

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time 35 hours

Purpose of the Role

Support the delivery of accurate, timely and well-controlled financial reporting across Just Group, including monthly consolidation activities, quarterly US GAAP and UK regulatory reporting, and annual statutory reporting. Working as part of Group Finance, you will contribute to the production of high-quality reporting and help ensure reporting processes are delivered efficiently and in line with agreed timelines

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of accurate and timely Group financial reporting, including monthly consolidations, quarterly US GAAP reporting and UK regulatory returns.

  • Prepare and process consolidation journals, reconciliations and reporting schedules, ensuring appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.

  • Contribute to the preparation of annual statutory financial statements for relevant subsidiaries and securitisation entities.

  • Support selected aspects of Group UK IFRS reporting and financial statement preparation.

  • Maintain financial reporting controls, investigating and escalating issues where appropriate.

  • Build effective relationships with colleagues across Finance and other stakeholders to support reporting activities and resolve queries.

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, documentation and controls to enhance efficiency and consistency.

  • Support ad hoc reporting requirements, projects and initiatives as required.

Examples of Key Activities

  • Prepare monthly consolidation schedules, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Produce quarterly US GAAP reporting templates, analysis and supporting schedules.

  • Complete complex UK regulatory return submissions and provide guidance on standard reporting activities.

  • Prepare statutory accounts, disclosure notes and supporting working papers for subsidiaries and securitisation entities.

  • Review reporting data for accuracy, completeness and consistency prior to submission or review.

  • Prepare audit and regulatory support information, including analysis, schedules and evidence requests.

  • Liaise with Finance teams and other contributors to resolve data queries and obtain supporting information.

  • Enhance reporting templates, controls, documentation and working papers to support efficient and audit-ready reporting processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or able to demonstrate comparable relevant experience.

  • Experience in financial reporting, statutory accounts preparation and/or regulatory reporting within a finance function.

  • Strong understanding of IFRS and the ability to apply accounting principles to reporting, journals and financial statements.

  • Experience supporting reporting cycles, including month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes.

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues, investigate variances and ensure reporting accuracy.

  • Experience preparing and reviewing journals, reconciliations, schedules and supporting working papers.

  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and communicate financial information clearly.

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.

  • Understanding of financial controls and the importance of maintaining robust, audit-ready documentation.

  • Experience in insurance reporting, consolidation processes, Solvency II reporting and/or working with external auditors would be advantageous.
