This is an exciting opportunity to join CFC’s growing Finance team and play a key role in delivering high-quality external reporting across the Group.
Working within Corporate Finance, you’ll support the production of accurate and timely financial reporting, helping ensure CFC continues to meet its statutory, regulatory and audit requirements as the business grows. You’ll combine strong technical accounting knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach, working closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider business.

About the role
As Senior External Reporting Accountant, you’ll take ownership of key areas of the Group’s external reporting cycle. You’ll prepare and review financial information, support the production of statutory accounts and work closely with external auditors to deliver a smooth and well-controlled year-end process.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Supporting the preparation of Group and entity-level statutory financial statements
  • Producing accurate reporting and supporting schedules in line with agreed deadlines
  • Coordinating information and responding to queries from external auditors
  • Ensuring reporting is compliant with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Preparing technical accounting papers and contributing to the resolution of complex accounting matters
  • Maintaining clear documentation, reconciliations and audit trails
  • Working with Finance teams across the Group to gather, review and challenge reporting information
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiency
  • Supporting wider Finance projects and reporting requirements as the business continues to evolve

About you
You’ll be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting and external reporting experience, ideally gained within insurance, financial services or another complex, regulated environment.

You’ll  have:
  • An ACA, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Experience preparing or reviewing statutory financial statements
  • Strong knowledge of relevant accounting standards and external reporting requirements
  • Experience working closely with external auditors
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across different teams
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to challenge where needed
  • An interest in improving processes and strengthening financial controls
