You will lead fee-earner recruitment across the UK, while also supporting recruitment across our European offices. You will advise senior stakeholders, mentor junior colleagues, and help ensure an inclusive, efficient, and commercially focused recruitment service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with hiring partners to design tailored, inclusive resourcing solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Deliver end-to-end recruitment for fee earners in the UK and for business services professionals across Europe.
  • Guide hiring teams on requisition approval, job descriptions, salary benchmarking, interview questions, and assessments.
  • Conduct and facilitate interviews that follow fair-selection principles and best practice.
  • Manage fixed-term recruitment and act as a key contact throughout each contract.
  • Build effective relationships with recruitment agencies, oversee preferred suppliers, and maintain high service standards.
  • Increase direct hiring through referrals, social media, and other recruitment platforms.
  • Provide market insight and salary data to inform recruitment decisions and salary reviews.
  • Maintain accurate hiring data in the applicant tracking system and Excel for management reporting.
  • Collaborate with Recruitment Managers, HR Operations, and Diversity & Inclusion colleagues to support the firm’s strategic priorities.

  • Line-manage and develop Recruitment Advisors in London and/or Manchester, including one-to-ones, resource planning, performance feedback, and coaching.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Substantial in-house recruitment experience, ideally gained in the legal or professional services sector.
  • Strong end-to-end recruitment expertise, including interviewing, assessment, and fair-selection practice.
  • The confidence to advise, coach, challenge, and influence hiring managers and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or developing recruitment professionals.
  • Commercial judgement, with a focus on service quality, cost management, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system, ideally Workday and Excel, supported by strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and client-focused approach, with the confidence to take ownership and deliver results.
