Description

Kinto Business Solutions, a subsidiary of Toyota Financial Services, is focused on developing innovative products for mobility and sustainability. As part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, we have been tasked with creating a solution to help the larger organisation meet mandatory ESG reporting requirements. However, our vision goes beyond internal compliance. As the ESG Product Owner, your role will be to ensure that our product aligns with both market trends and evolving customer needs, positioning us as a leader in the wider market. You will be accountable for the success of the ESG/CSRD product.

The Product Owner is a credible, experienced product leader. Your product decisions will be based on a solid foundation of insight and data and you will be skilled at partnering with stakeholders across the organisation and externally. You will be accountable for the success of the product development, defining the direction to meet the strategic needs of the business and tracking success. An inspiring and effective matrix people manager you will lead and empower the matrix delivery team, mentoring and coaching them to achieve their full potential.

What you will be doing

  • Ownership of the creation, refinement, and prioritisation of the Product Backlog that is used to direct the work completed by the delivery team.
  • Accountable for the success of the product development, defining the direction to meet the strategic needs of the business, tracing success and leading an empowered and effective matrix delivery team.
  • Accountable for setting the short term (0-3 months) product strategy and roadmap, identifying and justifying new ideas to meet business goals.
  • Empower and support the Delivery team to execute the short-term plan (0-3 months) and ensure that they are able to turn the longer-term vision into reality.
  • Identify, validate, document and prioritise business requirements for enhancements and new ideas to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Set the short term product strategy and vision working with commercial, technology and business peers and market stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with business teams to build an instinctive understanding of local markets, targets, and goals, agree on priorities and share feedback.
  • Commission and lead market and customer research and use data and insights to support effective decision-making.
  • Understand the products, customers and markets and the broader competitive digital landscape.
  • Work collaboratively with other business functions to build support for new propositions and obtain buy-in and support for new initiatives.
  • As a matrix people manager, inspire, mentor and coach delivery team members to achieve their full potential.
Requirements

You will have the following experience and skills:

  • 4+ years of working as a Product Owner with Agile development teams demonstrating business impact
  • Experience with the full ‘end-to-end’ product delivery lifecycle (PDLC)
  • Experience in matrix management and coaching team members
  • Experience creating short-term product strategies and proposals
  • Ability to extract meaning/trends from analysis of customer and market data
  • Skilled at managing stakeholders in large organisations
  • Effective prioritisation and demonstration of a clear sense of business and customer value
  • Understanding of Agile digital product design and delivery
  • Able to work under pressure and make pragmatic decisions
  • Able to say No to important stakeholders with a clear explanation as to why
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Figma, Miro, JIRA, Confluence advanced user.
  • A/B testing tools and Google Analytics.

In addition, the following would be useful:

  • Subject matter expert in ESF, in-depth knowledge of GRC landscape.
  • In-depth knowledge of reporting and ESG frameworks with experience in implementing a business strategy to align with ESG strategy with relevant frameworks.
  • Technical, engineering, scientific degree
  • MBA or similar business qualification.

You will also be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
