ERM, the worlds largest pure play sustainability consultancy, are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic consents consultant to join our Marine Renewables and Infrastructure team, within our Capital Project Delivery business unit.

Your key focus will be the provision of consenting, permitting and general EIA support to our existing and future client base; key sectors include Offshore Wind and Subsea Cables.

The role will include a high level of project management and coordination with technically-focused employees in the team to deliver reports and studies to clients. The role requires detailed interaction with key clients on all aspects of project delivery including technical outputs, programme, risk and budget. In addition, management of external subcontractors and associates contributing to Marine project delivery is an integral element of the position.

You’ll have overall responsibility for leading and managing projects, ensuring that they are of high quality and delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications. You will lead and guide Consultants and Senior Consultants in your team, including line management of up to five individuals. You will also  contribute to maximising employee retention and new employee recruitment.

You will play a key role in the wider business development and marketing strategy of the company to both internal and external clients, including identifying and contacting potential clients for new business.

About you

  • Detailed knowledge of the EIA and consenting process for at least one major marine development sector in the UK, i.e. offshore renewables; subsea cables; marine minerals
  • Demonstrable Project Management skills, with evidence of acting as a PM on previous projects
  • Business development experience, via client relationship management and/or leading on bid preparation
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team as/when required
