About the role

Our team of People Coordinators are the first point of contact for candidates, hiring managers, employees, and operations non-employees, escalating issues to the People Partnering team, managers, or other People teams where necessary.

As a People Coordinator, you will provide an efficient, proactive administrative and operational service from the start of the employee lifecycle to the end, including accurate data processing for new starters, employees, and non-employees. You will develop a deep understanding of your customer group in terms of movements and changes by working closely with the People Partnering team and Science Operations Administrators.

You will be using our Workday system, which plays a central role in how we operate at the Crick, seamlessly supporting functions across HR, Finance, IT administration, and cross-departmental collaboration.

What you will be doing:

Some of your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Workday is integral to our way of working within the Crick and includes HR, finance and IT admin and cross-functional integration. Your role is to: 

  • Manage administration areas such as recruitment, new starters, leavers and employee changes in Workday 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all general HR and benefits queries from candidates, new starters, hiring managers, employees and non-employees, and where appropriate forwarding issues to the People Partnering team, managers and other teams in HR 
  • Working in partnership with the People Partnering team and Science Operations Administrators to ensure that a high level of HR service is provided to customer groups; 
  • Manage employee electronic personnel files  
  • Ensure vacancies that may require a visa are compliant 

About you

You will have: 

  • Great knowledge and understanding of good HR practice including recruitment administration; *
  • Administrative and customer service experience. *
  • Exceptional understanding of providing a high level of customer service to everyone engaged and employed at the institute; *
  • Communicating information effectively; 
  • Ability to build rapport with a wide cross section of people and maintain good working relationships; 
  • Good team working skills; 
  • Knowledge of UK visa and right to work legislation
