Job Description

The People Business Partner is a senior HR professional responsible for delivering pragmatic, high-quality people solutions across the full employee lifecycle. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you will translate business priorities, people data and insight into clear, actionable people plans that enable performance, engagement and organisational effectiveness.

This is a broad generalist role operating within a complex, matrixed and fast-paced environment. You will work confidently and independently at senior level, building credibility quickly and using sound judgement, commercial insight and data to influence decisions, challenge constructively and drive measurable outcomes.

You will also manage your own Employee Relations caseload, providing pragmatic advice across a range of employee matters and applying UK employment law appropriately and commercially.

Based on a hybrid working model with regular presence required in our London office (minimum 2 days per week), the role also involves travel to other Assystem sites.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Partner with senior and operational leaders to develop and deliver people plans aligned to business priorities, building trusted relationships while confidently influencing and challenging.
  • Manage your own Employee Relations caseload, providing pragmatic advice and applying UK employment law to achieve fair, consistent and commercially appropriate outcomes.
  • Support organisational change, workforce planning, utilisation and capacity activity, translating business requirements into clear people actions.
  • Use people data and KPIs to identify trends, risks and opportunities, turning insight into targeted action and measurable outcomes.
  • Navigate complex organisational structures, governance and competing stakeholder priorities to drive decisions and deliver effective outcomes.
  • Contribute to policy development, process improvement and strategic people initiatives across the wider People function.
  • Embrace AI and technology-enabled ways of working to improve efficiency, insight and the quality of People solutions.

You will work closely with the Business Unit Director (dotted line to the Senior People Manager) and collaborate with the wider People Team to deliver a consistent, high-quality HR service.

Qualifications

Your Profile

  • Strong generalist HR experience, with the confidence to independently manage an Employee Relations caseload and good practical knowledge of UK employment law.
  • A credible and confident partner who can build relationships quickly, influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, and navigate competing priorities.
  • Experience translating business challenges into people plans and initiatives, with clear evidence of personal contribution and measurable business impact.
  • Strong analytical capability, including using people data and insight to inform decisions, alongside practical experience of organisational change and workforce planning.
  • A clear and impactful communicator who is digitally confident, curious and comfortable using AI and technology to enhance ways of working.

Experience within an international environment and French language capability would be advantageous.
