Are you interested in exploring how Artificial Intelligence can improve the efficiency and quality of service sourcing across industries?
This master's thesis focuses on benchmarking how telecom, IT managed services, field services, construction, logistics, and other service-intensive industries use AI in sourcing and procurement. The study will identify common use cases, capabilities, success factors, and barriers, and develop a practical maturity model for AI-enabled service sourcing.
The thesis will assess the current position of NMS Sourcing and recommend which AI opportunities could create the greatest value through improved cost transparency, supplier intelligence, bid evaluation, risk management, standardization, and decision support.
What you will do:
• Review academic literature, industry research, and documented company examples• Benchmark AI-enabled sourcing practices across three to five comparable industries• Interview sourcing, business, analytics, and digital-transformation stakeholders• Develop a maturity model for AI-enabled service sourcing• Assess the current maturity and priority needs of NMS Sourcing• Prioritize AI use cases based on business value, feasibility, data readiness, and adoption potential• Recommend a practical roadmap for implementation and value measurement
The skills you bring:
• Strong analytical and academic research skills• Interest in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, and digital transformation• Understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, or data analytics• Ability to conduct interviews and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information• Experience with maturity models, business-process analysis, or benchmarking is an advantage• Ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both academic and business audiences• Curiosity, structured problem-solving, and a practical mindset
