The role

We’re looking for a midweight B2C copywriter with 3+ years of experience writing direct-to-consumer marketing communications, with an understanding of creating UX/UI copy for product teams. 

You’ll be able to simplify complex concepts and write for a global audience, keeping your words friendly, relatable and engaging. At Busuu, we empower people through languages. If you want to help us deliver our mission through supportive and inspiring copy, you’re in the right place.

What does a Midweight Marketing Copywriter do at Busuu?

  • Takes a learner-first approach to creating consistent, engaging, high-quality copy across all branded touchpoints.

  • Support the team’s mission to effectively apply our brand and tonal identity across all audience journey stages.

  • Delivers copy for all marketing channels, plus supports the product team with UX copy requests. 

  • Actively seeks out and responds to stakeholder feedback to foster collaboration and improve outputs.

  • Contributes to testing copy variations to optimise for our audience.

  • Works collaboratively across the business with the design, marketing, localisation, product and education teams to build a consistent brand experience that engages and inspires our learners.

  • Stays tuned in to industry trends, writing styles and audience preferences to write copy that makes an impact. We love sharing inspiration.

  • Supports the Lead Copywriter with ideation and delivery of messaging frameworks.

What we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience writing engaging copy for brand advertising, marketing and product, demonstrating an understanding of copywriting techniques and tools. 

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong writing and editing skills: Proof of clear, concise copywriting with excellent command of English grammar and punctuation. Takes ownership of work (and deadlines), ensuring submitted work is finished to a high standard.

  • Creative thinking: Can you engage our audiences with innovative, attention-grabbing ideas?

  • Adaptive writing: Knowing where and when to flex our tone for different channels and audiences. Writing with localisation in mind (we translate our English written communications into 15 other languages).

  • Simplifying concepts: Can you translate abstract concepts into digestible copy for our global audience?

  • Copy advocate: Showcase the value of excellent copy company-wide.

  • Delivery: Interpret briefs, welcome stakeholder feedback, and deliver high-quality writing on point and on time.

  • Data-led mindset: Use metrics where necessary to inform your copy decision-making.
