What will you bring?
We’re looking for a qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) to join us as a Legal Counsel, where you’ll have the opportunity gain broad, hands-on experience across a wide range of legal work in a supportive, collaborative team.
This is a varied role offering excellent exposure and the chance to showcase your skills whilst growing your expertise within financial services and insurance.
What you’ll be doing
As part of our Legal team, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to provide clear, practical legal advice that enables good customer and business outcomes.
You Will:
• Support the Senior Legal Counsel with various instructions from the business including supplier and third-party contracts, litigation, insurance policy wording, broker arrangements and product initiatives.
• Be a trusted legal advisor across the business.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and supplier agreements.
• Support new product development and business initiatives.
• Review and advise on insurance policy wordings and customer-facing documentation / communications.
• Undertake legal research and legal / legislative updates for the team.
• Contribute to legal training and sharing knowledge across the business.
What we’re looking for
Essential:
• Solicitor qualified in England and Wales (2+ years PQE).
• Practising Certificate.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of the Financial Services industry from a group risk insurance product perspective.
• Experience in financial services sector preferable.
• Knowledge of the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority.
• An understanding of income protection, critical illness and life insurance products in both the group and individual markets.
