The Role

We're hiring a Product Counsel to join our legal team in New York. You'll work hands-on with our product and engineering teams, advising across the full product lifecycle and negotiating the agreements through which we license data and content to the platform.

This is a broad role with real ownership. You'll work across privacy, intellectual property and AI regulation, help build the processes that get legal input into product decisions early, and shape how Legora builds and ships AI tools for lawyers.

What You’ll Do:
  • Partner with product and engineering teams as their hands-on legal counsel, from concept through launch and iteration.

  • Advise on product legal risks, including privacy, AI governance, terms of service and regulatory compliance.

  • Negotiate data and content licensing agreements with publishers, data providers and other partners.

  • Draft and negotiate other product-related agreements, including integrations, partnerships and marketing, and help protect Legora's intellectual property and brand.

  • Build scalable processes, templates and playbooks that get legal input into product decisions early and speed up execution.tory requirements and compliance controls into products and processes.

What You Bring:
  • JD degree and bar admission and in good standing to practice law

  • 4+ years of legal experience with demonstrated experience in several of the following areas: privacy, intellectual property, AI and open source licensing.

  • Strong experience negotiating technology agreements and content or data licensing deals, ideally on the vendor side.

  • Sound judgment, clear communication with non-lawyers, and comfort owning a broad remit in a fast-moving environment.

  • You are excited about the potential of technology to transform the legal industry. You have a keen interest in AI and legal tech, and you are eager to learn and apply these tools in real-world settings.
