The company

Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are.

That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed.

We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

The team

The Website team sits within the Brand team and is part of the wider Direct Acquisition team, which also includes Sales and Performance Marketing. The Brand team is relatively new and is tasked with ensuring we show up consistently, with authority and credibility. It’s also responsible for creating demand at the top of the funnel, as well as empowering marketing, sales, and the wider business.

The role

We're looking for someone who is excited to both design and build digital experiences. You have a solid grasp of design fundamentals, basic frontend development skills, and are actively integrating AI into your workflow.

Working alongside our senior team members, you’ll build and update pages, maintain reusable components, and continuously refine the site to ensure it looks great, supports our brand strategy, and reflects our position as one of the UK’s leading fintechs.

We currently use Webflow to build and manage our website, and we’ll support you in learning the platform. Direct Webflow experience isn't essential-a strong foundational understanding of HTML and CSS, a good eye for design, and an eagerness to develop your skills are what matter most. We may also look to move away from Webflow and build on our own infrastructure in the future, giving you the opportunity to help shape our future approach.

You’ll be responsible for:

Drive our site’s visual identity

  • Design and implement reusable components and page templates that empower other team members to create their own pages

  • Be responsible for our website design system, making key decisions on everything from fonts to layouts

  • Lead on elevating and upholding our brand identity on the site

Collaborate and grow

  • Bring our new products and ventures to market, working with teams across the business to tell their story

  • Work with analysts to uncover quantitative and qualitative insights that inform design decisions

  • Tap into the community of iwoca designers and frontend engineers to work on solutions and develop your skillset

Example projects

  • Building out a scalable website component library

  • Exploring how animation can support our brand narrative

  • Designing a high impact landing page for an ad campaign

  • Implementing features to make our digital experience more personalised

Requirements
Essential:

  • You apply core design principles confidently and creatively

  • You have an understanding of HTML and CSS

  • You have a systematic approach to design, and enjoy making things organised and structured

  • You use AI actively in your design and development workflow

Bonus

  • Knowledge of JavaScript

  • Experience building and maintaining websites in Webflow

  • Experience developing a design system

  • Knowledge of Figma

  • Experience using animation in design

  • Experience working in a commercial environment - balancing technical, resource and revenue constraints

The salary

We expect to pay from £40,000 - £50,000 for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.

The culture

At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the professional development of our team members. We value thought and skill diversity, and encourage you to explore new areas of interest to help us innovate and improve our products and services.

  • Offices in London, Leeds, Frankfurt, and Berlin with plenty of drinks and snacks.

  • Events and clubs, like bingo, comedy nights, yoga classes, football, etc.

The benefits

  • A private GP service (separate from Vitality) for you, your partner, and your dependents.

  • 25 days’ holiday, an extra day off for your birthday, the option to buy or sell an additional five days of annual leave, and unlimited unpaid leave.

  • A one-month, fully paid sabbatical after four years.

  • Instant access to external counselling and therapy sessions for team members that need emotional or mental health support.

  • 3% pension contributions on total earnings.

  • An employee equity incentive scheme.

  • Generous parental leave and a nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.
