The Delivery Manager ensures that all solutions, encompassing both bespoke and off-the-shelf applications, are delivered in accordance with agreed plans, meet stringent quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and deliver measurable value across IT and Operations.

This role is a hybrid position where you will work from any nearest Aptia office in UK as well as from your home address. Its a 12 months contract role.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with the Transformation Director and business/IT leadership to define and manage the change pipeline and delivery priorities within the Digital Transformation Programme.

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technical and business solutions, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.

  • Coordinate activities related to Application, Environment, and Infrastructure changes, including development, installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • Ensure a smooth handover of new releases and changes to production, working closely with IT and Operations teams.

  • Engage, manage, and govern relationships with third-party vendors and offshore service providers, ensuring they consistently deliver high-quality solutions and services aligned with contractual agreements.

  • Integration Management: Ensure seamless and compliant integration of third-party solutions into Aptia’s existing IT infrastructure and applications.

  • Manage, directly or indirectly, a team of support professionals, analysts, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Quality Assurance individuals, and third-party contractors as required.

  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate technical, financial, and delivery risks associated with solutions and third-party engagement.

  • Ensure all deliverables meet required quality standards, employ a controlled change process (impact assessed and understood), and comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements (including contributing to Audit and Internal Controls).

  • Implement and develop the Operating Model and technical change management activities aligned with ITIL best practices.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Broad understanding of the Insurance or Financial Services landscape across multiple business areas (e.g., IT, Operations, Pension Administration, Underwriting, or Claims).

  • Strong experience in implementing and driving project activities for both business and IT-focused projects.

  • Broad knowledge of the system development life cycle, system and application program development alternatives, and experience working within an Agile, service delivery-focused IT Department employing ITIL best practices and strong change management methods.

  • Experience of working with offshore service providers and strong experience in team management.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire diverse teams.

  • Understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and software development methodologies. Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
