Team Overview
The team responsible for managing change, transformation, and automation across the UK network infrastructure. The team sits within Infrastructure Services and plays a key role in delivering secure, resilient, and scalable network services that support TransUnion’s technology and business operations.This role reports into the Senior Manager, Systems Engineering and Programming. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and support a team of network engineers, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing culture.
Set clear priorities aligned to business and technology goals, managing team capacity, demand, workload planning, and resource allocation.
Enable the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure network services across enterprise, data centre, and cloud environments.
Drive the adoption of automation, infrastructure-as-code, and DevOps practices to improve consistency, repeatability, and operational readiness.
Champion a “you build it, you run it” model, supporting stronger service ownership and accountability across delivery teams.
Act as a senior escalation point for complex or high-impact network incidents, ensuring effective coordination, resolution, and follow-up.
Work closely with architects, SMEs, security, infrastructure, development, and operations teams to ensure services align with standards, roadmaps, and governance requirements.
Support continuous improvement in service reliability, resilience, monitoring, risk management, and operational excellence.
Oversee vendor relationships, network-related project delivery, documentation, reporting, and disaster recovery planning.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
Experience leading and developing network engineering teams in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
Strong people leadership, coaching, and team development skills, with the ability to support both technical and professional growth.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, team capacity, demand planning, and sustainable delivery.
Broad understanding of networking technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, WAN, and cloud networking.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, data centre networking, WAN, firewalls, and cloud networking.
Understanding of network security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, access control, and zero-trust principles.
Experience with operational practices including incident, problem, change, monitoring, availability, and capacity management.
Familiarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code principles.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience working in DevOps or product-aligned environments
Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure / GCP)
Understanding of network automation and infrastructure-as-code principles
Experience in regulated environments
