Support end-to-end portfolio acquisition and middle-office operations for insolvency assets: pre-purchase support, deal setup, payments reconciliation, data analysis, automation using Python/AI, system improvements, controls, and audit/regulatory support.

As Insolvency Portfolio Analyst in Max Recovery Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of portfolio acquisitions and ongoing operations, contributing to business growth and operational excellence.
You will be expected to support the business specifically across all middle office functions as well as any additional ad-hoc requests that may arise.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop a working knowledge of insolvency products and end to end lifecycle of Max Recovery process flows.
- Support front office desk in new business growth by providing pre-purchase/funding support tailored to client needs, setting up deals to inhouse system and manage post purchase task.
- Take ownership of routine middle office operations, including managing incoming payments, reconciling servicer balances, and timely processing of servicer operations files.
- Analyze portfolio data to provide actionable insights and track business performance.
- Leverage Python and AI tools to automate routine tasks, enhance data analysis, and support process improvement initiatives.
- Partner with technology to facilitate system improvements based on the businesses need for improved efficiencies, oversight and control.
- Maintain robust controls and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Support audit processes (internal/external) and regulatory reporting requirements.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Prior experience in middle office, operations, or analyst roles within financial services, especially in distressed debt or insolvency.
- Basic proficiency in Python for data analysis, process automation, or workflow enhancements.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
- Proactive problem-solving approach and willingness to take ownership
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to build relationships across internal teams (middle office, front office, technology, finance, controls) and external partners (servicers, clients).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in an operations role a plus.
- Experience with process improvement or automation initiatives is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Python scripting and AI-driven automation in a business or operational context is highly valued.
Basic proficiency in SQL to query the database and run analysis is a plus.
