Job Description:

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Inside Sales Representative within 3M’s Industrial Adhesives and Tapes Division (IATD), you will play an important role in driving new business growth across our industrial customer base.

We are looking for candidates who are motivated by targets, confident in outbound prospecting, and comfortable creating opportunities through proactive customer contact. While some account management is part of the role, the main focus is on generating new business, building pipeline, and converting opportunities into revenue.

You will be part of a collaborative sales team, working closely with field sales, marketing, and technical colleagues, but success in this role will also require a high level of autonomy, self-motivation, and personal drive. This opportunity could suit someone already working in B2B sales, or a strong B2C sales professional looking to transition into a more technical and commercially focused business-to-business environment.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Generating new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, cold calling, and follow-up activity

  • Building and managing a sales pipeline from initial contact through to close

  • Making regular outbound calls to identify, qualify, and develop sales opportunities

  • Working toward clear sales, pipeline, and activity targets in a proactive, fast-paced environment

  • Growing sales across 3M’s industrial adhesives and tapes portfolio by identifying customer needs and matching solutions

  • Following up effectively on inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns

  • Maintaining and developing selected existing accounts while keeping a strong focus on new business generation

  • Collaborating with field sales, marketing, application engineering, and channel teams to progress opportunities and deliver growth

  • Using CRM tools to manage activity, maintain pipeline accuracy, and support forecasting

  • This role is best suited to candidates with sales experience rather than customer service-only backgrounds. We are specifically looking for individuals who have been responsible for generating business, developing opportunities, and working toward sales targets.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires at a minimum:

  • Experience in an inside sales, outbound sales, telesales, lead generation, or similar commercially focused role

  • Proven ability to work toward and achieve sales targets through proactive customer outreach

  • Confidence engaging customers over the phone, with the resilience and motivation to maintain consistent outbound activity

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive, results-oriented mindset

  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and stay focused on outcomes

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Fluent English

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience in B2B sales or a strong B2C sales background with a desire to move into a business-to-business environment

  • Passion for sales, strong customer focus, and the ambition to build a successful career within a global organisation

  • Experience using CRM systems, with Salesforce experience preferred

  • A solid understanding of the sales lifecycle and how to identify, qualify, and develop opportunities

  • Coachable attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute positively to team success

  • Interest in technical or industrial products, with the ability to quickly understand customer requirements and translate them into sales opportunities

  • Experience in industrial or manufacturing-related sales is advantageous but not essential

Job specifics:

  • Work location - Bracknell

  • This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days a week in the office.

  • Travel expectations - Occasional travel (approx. once per month), typically accompanying a field salesperson on customer visits to support relationship building.

  • Working pattern - Full time

  • Remuneration

Salary - high-reaching dependent on skills and experience plus excellent benefits package.

    Bonus – Sales Incentive Plan
