About the Role
IG Group is reimagining how HR services are designed, delivered, and enabled by technology, and this role exists to lead that shift. The Head of HR Transformation & Technology is accountable for the end-to-end design, performance, and evolution of IG's central HR services, as well as the platforms and capabilities that enable them. This is a genuine build mandate: the successful candidate will define what good looks like, lead the transformation to get there, and own the outcomes.
About the Team
This role sits within the People Experience division, reporting into the Director of People Experience. The People Experience function is at the heart of IG's ambition to embed a high-performance culture and deliver an exceptional employee experience at scale, one of IG's three group-wide strategic pillars.
The Head of HR Transformation & Technology will directly lead the HR Systems & Data team, with accountability spanning HR technology, platform ownership, and change delivery.
Key Responsibilities
HR Platform & Technology Strategy
Define and maintain a coherent HR architecture covering service scope, user journeys, data models, integration patterns, and employee experience standards.
Set the HR technology strategy in support of service outcomes, including platform direction, architectural choices, and integration approach.
Remain platform, product, and service agnostic, selecting and evolving solutions based on fitness for purpose rather than tool preference (current platforms include Workday and ServiceNow).
Provide clear recommendations on best-in-class versus consolidated platform strategies, informed by cost, risk, and long-term sustainability.
Transformation & Change Leadership
Lead IG's HR services transformation portfolio, spanning both continuous improvement and step-change initiatives, in partnership with the HR Leadership Team and Heads of HR.
Drive prioritisation, sequencing, and decision-making across competing demands, balancing run, change, risk, and capacity.
Ensure continuity of live services while driving material change to underlying platforms and processes.
Service Performance & Operational Resilience
Establish and oversee service management disciplines including SLAs, performance metrics, data quality standards, and operational controls.
Enable effective HR service delivery in close partnership with HR Service Owners.
Vendor & Commercial Management
Own the HR technology vendor ecosystem, including core and niche platform providers, system integrators, AMS providers, and specialist suppliers.
Partner with Service Owners, and Procurement to appoint, manage, renegotiate, or exit vendors and contracts, ensuring commercial arrangements deliver value and align with IG's strategic direction.
Governance, Risk & Decision Enablement
Identify structural gaps, risks, and dependencies across HR services and platforms, providing clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Establish pragmatic governance frameworks that enable pace without compromising control.
Role Requirements
Proven leadership experience designing and rebuilding service models and target operating models for people-centric services at scale.
A strong track record of platform-enabled transformation, spanning strategy, delivery, and live operations in complex, regulated environments.
Experience managing complex vendor ecosystems and large commercial relationships, including vendor selection, negotiation, and performance management.
Demonstrated ability to operate credibly with executive stakeholders, influencing difficult trade-offs and driving clarity where ambiguity exists.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through significant change.
Comfort working in ambiguous, evolving environments where structure must be created rather than inherited.
Desirable
Experience working in a fintech, financial services, or similarly regulated industry.
Familiarity with Workday and/or ServiceNow in an enterprise HR context.
Exposure to matrix-structured, globally distributed HR operating models.
Experience standing up or significantly evolving an HR change or programme management capability.
How we work
