About the role –

This role will be responsible for strategic guidance, stakeholder collaboration, and the establishment of best practices for ESG risk management and governance within Digital and Tech.Developing and maintaining suitable frameworks and the business process for governing ESG safely, fairly, and ethically. Establish the governance required throughout the ESG reporting development lifecycle from concept to live for end-to-end data flows. Understand emerging developments in ESG policy, standards, and regulation with a view to continuously ethical management of data in ESG.Developing the technical assurance methods to ensure ESG data solutions are compliant with industry and government regulations, and clients’ own ethics policies. Work with engineering and development teams to ensure that ESG data systems, processes and products are designed and implemented in a transparent manner. 

Representing D&T in discussions on ESG data risks, working across Haleon ensuring our delivery of reporting solutions is compliant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and managing D&T ESG processes and controls, ensuring the appropriate implementation of key controls in Written Standards and other relevant control framework documents/risk assessment mechanisms. 

• Develop guidance and training to D&T employees on ESG reporting. 

• Ensure that ESG data and reporting solutions are built responsibly and ethically by partnering with engineering, data and business teams ensuring integrity of end to end data flows 

• Understand latest ESG developments and emerging technologies, develop thought leadership in the application of ESG and how associated risks are managed through governance and controls. 

• Review reporting and key metrics to proactively identify emerging risks or themes; partner with the business and Digital and Tech to monitor standards adherence as well as emerging risk detection. 

• Representing D&T in discussions on ESG reporting. 

Business Expertise-

• A strong communicator, able to present ideas simply and coherently leading to achieving a consensus, even where stakeholders are from a diverse range of business areas 

• Excellent relationship management, strong influencing & collaboration skills with an ability to gain the respect/buy-in from all stakeholder levels across Haleon 

• Strategic Thinking: Ability to provide strategic guidance on ESG governance to D&T 

• Good level of understanding of the UK Sustainability Disclosure Standards (UK SDS)  

• Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, risk management and/or policy 

• Firm understanding of ESG regulations, governance and standards landscape 

• Proficiency in creating technical documents such as policy drafts, guidelines, and compliance reports 

• Subject matter expertise in data governance and Risk Management 

Problem Solving: Diverse problem solving across Technology and Regulatory landscape. Risk-based decisions must be made based on the combination of global regulatory requirements and Haleon technology capability. Regulations can be open to interpretation and require current and ongoing experience with regulatory agencies.

Nature & Area of Impact: Responsible for ESG Risk and Controls Framework and Written Standards. This framework guides the global Technology organisation on how to use data to develop appropriate, high-quality technology to support ESG regulations and manage the end to end software development lifecycle, it ensure standardisation of technology processes, is responsible for managing security and regulatory risks through robust written standards. Ineffective management of ESG Tech written standards could lead to regulatory breaches in reporting  

Interactions / Interpersonal Skills: This role will be required to engage internally and externally. Internal business engagement extends to influencing senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment across Haleon.  Being able to successfully lead and engage with regulators is critically important to the results of future external inspections. . 

Qualifications and skills

Essential

• Bachelor(Engineering, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Information Technology)

• Minimum Experience: 8 years

• Mastery in the field of GMP (GAMP 5 & 21CFR Part11) and Quality Systems

• Experienced in Corporate Governance and Tech Risk Management.

• Preferred Experience: 10+ Years;
