Summary of Role

We are looking for a high performing Global Strategy Manager who will be part of a dedicated strategy and innovation team, working with the Global Strategy Director to develop global media strategies for Unilever Foods, as well as working with the local markets to guide local implementation and to share best practice and learning. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Key day to day strategy interface for Unilever Global Brand and Media Teams as well as relevant creative agency partners
  • Support Global Strategy Director in the development of global communication strategies. In collaboration with local markets to inform creative development and local media implementation.
  • Working with specialist functions within Mindshare WW, especially the insights and innovation specialists, to create compelling audience and channel insights 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Experience and Capabilities: Unilever is one of the largest and progressive marketing and media organisations in the world. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of working in local, regional and global media roles for high profile Global Brands. Producing industry leading and award-winning campaigns.
  • Mindshare Knowledge: Accelerate knowledge of Mindshare, including the skills and services available and the key people who deliver those services. Across the wider Unilever Central Team, The regional/local Centres of Excellence and the Mindshare network.
    • Awareness and understanding of research tools, including Mindshare proprietary tools, syndicated services and publicly available data.
  • Partners and Suppliers: Up to date knowledge of media owners, content owners, production agencies, research companies and other suppliers which Mindshare or our clients can partner with.
  • General Skills: Excellence in communication, presentation and team building. At Mindshare, we work with Unilever in 70+ markets. Given the global footprint of the Unilever business, a second language is preferred.
  • Key Attributes:
    • Curious– about humans, what makes them tick, what makes them connect. About channels, new, old and changing, always asking how can we break the mould of how things may have been.
    • Creative– always looking for new and exciting ways to bring brands to audiences. For the extra ‘spark’ or stretch in the plan that may not be expected.
    • Challenging– themselves and others to consider if there is a new way, a better way or an uncharted way to solve business challenges
