JOB DESCRIPTION
Our global network of 80+ laboratories is constantly evolving, because the world around us is always changing. We embrace this - we invest in improving our equipment and our skills so we're one step ahead of the market. One day we could be setting up a burn test and the next, simulating a tornado. And because we're always evolving, your career will evolve alongside us, whether you're working on brand new technology or connecting with experts around the globe. Join our team, drive the growth of our organization and deliver real change - in a changing world.
Shape the Future of EMC Laboratory Performance
At UL Solutions, our global network of laboratories supports some of the world's most innovative companies in bringing safe, compliant products to market. As technologies evolve and customer expectations continue to grow, our EMC laboratories play a critical role in helping manufacturers navigate increasingly complex regulatory and compliance requirements.
We're seeking an experienced EMC professional who has built their career within the laboratory environment and is ready to make a broader impact.
This is not a traditional operational management role. It is a unique opportunity to influence the strategy, performance, and success of EMC laboratories across the Asia-Pacific region. Working closely with laboratory leaders, regional management, commercial teams, and senior stakeholders, you will help shape how our EMC business operates, grows, and delivers value to customers.
We're looking for someone who combines deep EMC laboratory expertise with strong business judgement and commercial awareness. Someone who understands what makes a laboratory successful, knows how to engage stakeholders at all levels, and can guide teams through change to deliver measurable improvements in performance, customer engagement, utilisation, and profitability.
For the right individual, this role offers a natural progression from laboratory leadership into a highly visible global position with significant influence and long-term career growth potential.
The Opportunity
As Global EMC Operations & Strategy Manager, you will serve as a strategic partner to EMC laboratory leaders, helping them identify opportunities to improve operational effectiveness, customer experience, resource utilisation, and financial performance.
Drawing on your experience within EMC testing and laboratory operations, you will provide insights and leadership that help laboratories optimise performance while supporting sustainable business growth.
This role requires someone who can bridge the gap between technical operations and commercial strategy. You'll understand the realities of laboratory environments while also recognising the wider business drivers that influence investment decisions, customer retention, market growth, and profitability. Most importantly, you'll help bring people on a journey, building alignment across multiple teams and driving initiatives that deliver meaningful business outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do
  • Partner with EMC laboratory leaders globally to improve operational performance, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Analyse business, operational, and financial data to identify opportunities for growth and continuous improvement.
  • Drive initiatives that improve laboratory utilisation, throughput, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.
  • Support the development and execution of regional operational and commercial strategies.
  • Work closely with laboratory, sales, finance, and business leaders to align priorities and deliver shared objectives.
  • Lead performance reviews, budgeting, forecasting, and business planning activities across the EMC laboratory network.
  • Develop executive-level reporting and recommendations for regional and global leadership teams.
  • Identify and implement best practices across laboratories to improve consistency, productivity, and customer outcomes.
  • Support strategic investment decisions through robust operational and financial analysis.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to laboratory managers and leadership teams on business performance, growth opportunities, and organisational effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS
What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Significant experience within EMC testing, laboratory operations, compliance, certification, or a related technical environment.
  • Strong understanding of EMC laboratory operations and the key drivers of laboratory performance and profitability.
  • Experience managing or influencing operational improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex business and operational data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to build alignment and lead teams through change.
  • Commercially minded with an understanding of customer engagement, growth opportunities, investment decisions, and financial performance.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in English is vital, as you'll be frequently communicating with labs globally.

What We Offer
• A highly visible global role with direct impact on business performance.• The opportunity to collaborate with leaders and teams around the world.• Exposure to strategic decision-making and global business initiatives.• A dynamic and collaborative environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.• Professional development and career growth opportunities within a global organization.
Why Join Us?
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the performance and growth of a global network of EMC laboratories. You will help shape business strategy, drive operational improvements, and contribute directly to the organization's profitability and long-term success.
