Who are we?

Howden is a global insurance group with employee ownership at its heart. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of insurance. We are united by a shared passion and no-limits mindset, and our strength lies in our ability to collaborate as a powerful international team comprised of 24,000 employees spanning over 56 countries.

People join Howden for many different reasons, but they stay for the same one: our culture. It’s what sets us apart, and the reason our employees have been turning down headhunters for years. Whatever your priorities – work / life balance, career progression, sustainability, volunteering – you’ll find like-minded people driving change at Howden.

As Howden continues to expand its international presence, we are looking for a Global Mobility Analyst to join our Global Mobility team. Reporting to the Global Head of Mobility, the Global Mobility Analyst will act as the operational lead for the Global Mobility team, taking ownership of the day-to-day delivery of Howden’s global mobility programme and providing specialist guidance to HR and business stakeholders across the Howden Group.

The role will directly manage a broad caseload including international assignments, permanent transfers and cross-border working arrangements. Working closely with employees, HR teams and external advisers, the Global Mobility Analyst will coordinate the tax, immigration, payroll and relocation workstreams, ensuring cases are progressed consistently, effectively and compliantly.

Alongside leading the operational case management, the role will also support the continued development of Howden’s Global Mobility Centre of Excellence through analysis of mobility data and costs, process improvements and policy implementation.

The successful candidate will be comfortable managing cases independently, working across multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders, and identifying issues before they become problems. They will combine technical mobility expertise, sound judgement and confident stakeholder management with strong analytical and organisational skills and a practical, employee-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end operational delivery of the global mobility programme, across all assignment types and geographies
  • Build strong relationships with external tax, immigration and relocation advisers, ensuring advice is obtained at the appropriate stage, and actions are progressed within SLAs
  • Act as the key point of contact for employees throughout their international move, providing clear guidance and mobility support.
  • Advise HR and the business on the optimum mobility solution for each scenario including costs, timings and compliance considerations to support business decision-making
  • Provide regular mobility reporting and analysis to support budget management, compliance monitoring and workforce planning.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to improve and automate mobility processes, systems and reporting, enhancing efficiency and the employee experience.
  • Support mobility technology implementation and the continued development of mobility reporting and analytics.
  • Provide specialist, practical guidance to HR, employees and business stakeholders on international mobility requirements and processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of mobility policies, controls and governance as part of the wider Global Mobility transformation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in Global Mobility, International HR or Expatriate Tax, including independent ownership of complex international mobility cases.
  • Confident using HR systems, vendor platforms and spreadsheets to effectively manage mobility activity and reporting
  • Strong working knowledge of expatriate tax, payroll, social security, immigration and compliance considerations associated with international working.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage operational delivery, prioritise competing demands and resolve complex issues independently.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex data sets, identify trends and provide meaningful insights.
  • Sound judgement, a proactive approach and confidence in handling ambiguity
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and commitment to delivering an effective employee experience.
  • Inspires confidence and builds strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

What do we offer in return?

A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

  • Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new

  • We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges

  • We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond

Reasonable adjustments

We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs.  Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.
